Look we all know the XIV dev team is spread thin at the moment and it's clearly due to all this focus on Ultimate and Savage content, they should just scrap all that nonsense and focus on the content that matters; Lord of Verminion

I can't wait to watch the first clear of Dragonsong. I haven't tried the new pvp yet but I'm planning on breaking out one of my healers for it. I've heard people mention that it's fun playing as healer there and how they wish they could have the same kits in pve or something similar.
I wish the employers that developed the mahjong on their free time used that same energy to refit all the headgers on hrothgars and viera heads
Having seen the direction of Activision Blizzard, it just seems unlikely. I really wish something like that would happen, as there are aspects of that game which I loved, but I think it'd take the touch of a different company, and not Blizzard's dead hand, to do it proper justice... at this point there's more chances that one of the other potential fledgling MMOs might pull through, like the one Riot is apparently planning.
Supposedly they are doing another WoW expansion announcement super soon. Still, I kind of doubt it too, from what I've seen. Regardless, there definitely does need to be more competition in the mmorpg sector. Everything is pretty stagnate right now, it's why I always wanted this game to get better. I will always think this game has a lot of potential. I'd rather be playing this game than taking as many breaks as I do. I really do just like playing one "main" game.
The riot MMO definitely has potential. I'll probably try it out, there's Ashes of Creation as well, but I have a feeling it will end up respectably niche - I don't think I'll end up liking that. Right now, Lost Ark has had my attention for 2 and a half months (almost 1000 hours, a lot AFK) and I still play it every single day. I suppose I just have the disposition to play a game like Lost Ark, that many others don't have. I don't see it as a true competitor to FFXIV though. This game really just needs some sort of wake up call, and I'd rather not see the game continue to go down in quality and reach a point where WoW looks to be right now.
Aye, I've been playing Lost Ark as well, and while I enjoy it, it's not the same type of beast as a traditional MMO. It's good fun, though, and I'll probably stick with it for the foreseeable future, but likewise, I'd love to see this game course-correct.
I think it's incredibly ironic the people complaining the most in this thread about people shutting down their criticisms are the ones who are shutting down any positive word the strongest. Not that people don't have valid complaints. But we all should be able to give our feedback without being insulted. Terms like "white knight" or "blind to issues" or "shilling" when someone says something positive is just as non-constructive as calling someone a whiner for bringing up complaints. Acting like anyone who doesn't agree with everything you find wrong with the game doesn't have any complaints at all is probably not winning you any friends.
Everyone is free to have their own opinions. If they want to try to spread positivity, that's their choice, but it's not exactly the best time. Do I like some of the things they added with this patch? Sure. But they've gotta give respect to get it, and I feel very disrespected right now as a customer. I think a lot of people are done playing nice. I am one of those people. We don't need people praising the developers right now. Now is the time to draw our line in the sand.
Edit: I hate the post limit. lol
Again, they are free to have their opinions and post them here. We are just as free to disagree with them, and they in return. However, some people need to learn to read a room as well.
except when blunting issues are being discourage like healers mp issues, sam kaiten, hrotager hairstyle implementations and telling people "all is fine" when the evidence and facts point that there is issues and problems, they kind of get whats coming both people really when they enter into arguments(im one of the complainers about healer issues as well), if you enter the waters expect to get wet especially if u try to dismiss plaguing issues.
the housing issues is actually deserved that rage since the bug should have been in a scale where Q&A had caught it and it never should have been seen in the light of day.
Indie company with very small budge and lots of feelings, please understand, stay sub and look forward to new changes in 4 months later
Perfectly valid for you to feel disrespected. NOT valid for you to crap on anyone who doesn't. And if people want to praise the developers and focus on the things they like, they have just as much right to do so as you do. No one is telling you to play nice with the developers. Don't turn your vitriol on other players who don't think the same as you do.
I saw someone on this very thread say they thought this patch as great and a whole lot of you just dogpiled on them. Their opinion is just as valid as yours.
Crap? Just because you don't like the words he uses or the tone of his reasoning doesn't mean he's crapping on them. If people want to praise Square, they can start their thread rather than coming into a complaint thread to subvert people trying to vent their concerns about the game, which is more malicious than someone being slightly blunt with them.
It was okay if they thought it was great, but they make their thread. Who thought people would be happy with others telling them to calm down or that their opinion is somehow worthless because they revamped PVP? How else did you think they were going to take it?
There is a time and place for this, and it's not on this thread. It would be on their post. It's like someone who has cancer being told it is not bad because they had a great life.
Pretty sure having cancer is worse than losing a house in a video game. :/
It's not a comparison to be taken literally.... most people (hopefully) never deal with cancer, and they don't need to to know it's bad.
Technically we do. As good looking as all the new gearsets are, they've been using a lot of the "everyone has essentially the same gear, but color swapped" technique lately.
Four sets I can think of are reused assets. This expansion has not been a glowing example of skilled gear design. Every expansion has seen less sets then the last one. You can say quality is better they are more unique, that doesn't invalidate the statement less sets.
If they're referring to this post, that person wasn't just saying the patch is great, they were also implying the complaints were invalid in the last sentence, which they more or less went to confirm a few posts later on.
And we're still doom posting. Ths stuff really gets old man. I really don't like the stance many take that a bunch of folks stave off criticism of the game when it's generally never mentioned that just as many overblown the games issues. The game has work to be done but it's not on the fast track to dying because they aren't fixing what you want asap
As has been explained many times throughout this thread and many others, a lot of players have seen the slow burn in real time where the collapse of other MMO's are concerned.
It didn't happen overnight. It was a slow process - one many of us are able to identify and acknowledge. I'm pretty comfortable suggesting that many of us do not want the game to crash and burn. There's stuff we like about it, friends we enjoy playing with. Though the idea that everyone just has to roll over and accept everything handed to them or quit if they don't like something isn't really conductive to averting a repeat of WoW's decline.
some might be overblown but they are right to overblown it considering the issues that being discussed here.
considering the time frame to address the issues, the time the systems were developed and the fact that this is not a small company with barely 5 devs only developing all the systems in the game but a multi dollar company that should have a good amount of devs in charge of the game with testers that "test" the systems before deployment that we actually pay monthly sub for it.
every rage here could have been seen coming a mile away.
Fairly certain most of us who played certain other mmo can see the red flags rather fast
Of course yoshi is going to be polite because at the end of day he wants you to be still subscribe or making purchase in the cash shop at the end of the day he need to make sure that player keep their subscription active to show square that this game is still successful.
Yet I've seen maybe 4 folks here in the slew of comments say the game is fine. This thread has big wash of "look at xyz, xyz is bad", but nothing (or not much) on how to fix those. Not everyone here is complaining for change, I'll bet plenty are complaining for the sake of or just to be part of the group.
I'm not excusing anything but it does seem SE isn't allowed to make mistakes because they're a big company and "big Corpo = bad". Have they taken on a tall order and tried to appeal to to many folks? Sure, but I'm not gonna crap on them for it.
Also overflowing issues isn't always needed. How a class performs? No. Losing money due a bugged lottery, yes
