That is big brain move to nope out. Thank you, I’m cracking up ;)
My guess is probably a fatfingered Rescue from trying to cast something on you.
Welp, I just bounced from the most cringe worthy expert run in less than 2mins, with me being the cringe.
It was supposed to be just another regular run with good ole white mage. I hadn't touched the job in a week but it's not like I had forgotten how to play it, right? "Right" you might say.
WRONG.
First, I wipe the group, flailing my keyboard almost across the room (okay, it actually just fell by my feet) because I coudn't find my regens on my hotbar. Then I wipe the group again cuz I couldn't find holy. I nope out of there and see that for some UNHOLY reason, I shifted some spells around like a GODDAMN MANIAC, instead of leaving them where they usually are.
To the group in Smileton, I'm so sorry guys. I don't know what possessed me but all I can do is fix my hotbar...away from people where I can't hurt them (from not properly healing them, that is). I feel so bad. SO BAD.
Meant to post this the other day, so I had queued for alliance raid roulette, and saw probably more leavers than ever before. It was the Goug alliance raid (Ridorana Lighthouse). Pretty funny, all things considered. As soon as someone left it was like one after the other until there were very few of us left, but we got us some replacements, and it filled up right after. I don't think I had ever seen so many leavers in that roulette aside from in like Dun Scaith or Orbonne, years back. Even when I've gotten Orbonne the very few times more recently - I hadn't seen so many. A bunch of people must not like prime numbers or something. :p
Honestly, I can't fathom why people instantly leave when a certain instance pops up on a roulette. I'm no one to judge if things go down south and then people leave, but just immediately zooming out IMO is a timewaste. I'd rather actually play through the game and bear some wipes, than twiddle my thumbs for 30 minutes.
Tanked Asphodelos second circle NM and slowly die from auto attacks since both healers decided to not heal me (was using CDs and did not have any vul stack). As soon as I die I got a rez right away. :(
Alliance Raid, Tower... at Paradigm's Breach as SCH hell yeah. MCH says something about not having done this as MCH before but they'll try to not mess up. I assume this means they're also getting used to being MCH in general and are going to be looking at their abilities a lot. I picked up DNC again after a year of not touching it, so I can relate.
Another alliance's tank dips immediately, so we're stuck waiting. Out of boredom, people begin to jump to their deaths. A grim scene, but not what I am here to talk about.
Once we get going, from the first fight until Hansel & Gretel, the MCH is having a very rough time, repeatedly getting hit and dying. Then, partway through the H&G fight, I send them a raise and... notice the disconnect symbol. After a bit, they fully disconnect.
It's possible their internet decided to die at the worst time, adding insult to injury. But the timing really makes me suspect that they were just frustrated and shut down their game.
It really bugs me when people do that. I know you're frustrated, but don't pass that frustration on to us.
(If I am wrong, disregard that and I'm sorry you had a bad day, MCH.)
SGE co-healer never overwrote my shields though! It was a pleasant run.
Just got out of a miserable Orbonne Monastery run. People died, some bad things were being done, but that wasn't even the issue as I tend to enjoy the spicier runs (keeps it entertaining). But one of the healers was crotchety as could be and it was killing the vibe.
They kept dropping snippy comments when certain mechs weren't done correctly, like when an orb wasn't placed in the right spot and we had to side-step a little (the horror!), or after a couple of random deaths in the group. We had new people, things are gonna happen. The healer did also ended up dying a couple of times themselves, the most memorable was at the final boss when she goes invulnerable and all you have to do is dodge. I reaaally wanted to drop a lil' snark, but alas, I was good and stayed mum. :p
Some people are far too grumpy to be interacting with the general public.
Many many many of the jaded healers out there in the wilds :D Some do not understand the power of just venting away into the ether without actually typing it into the game and how much it helps reduce the feist. I may be a sassy lala on the forums at the times but will never lay into someone in the game. I know how that feels and it will possibly make the others perform even worse. Now they are new and sad or nervous.
Speaking of the sassyness, assisting friends with their roulettes places us within the wiping city once agayn. Seriously, when half of the alliance is in cutscene stop fricken rapid fire pulling stuffs. It drives me bonkers! This. Is. Not. Crystal Tower. It cannot always be ignore mechanics o'clock. Sometimes someone may wish to gasp place waymarks for A,B,C or give basic explanation of mechanics. Also tanks, we must have the talk. Soooo, tanks oh tanks please start paying attention to something outside of your hotbar and the bosses face. For the love of the twelve there miiiiight be ads to tank or mechanics you must dodge. Mmhmm, you actually must avoid certain things as tank. At the least they were mitigating... Progress, I suppose.
Ohhhhh and somehow there were no wipes, the power of healing your heart out.
I really hate it when we're having issues in Savage and I decide to inspect people who are being a problem, I notice that they don't have proper melds ( bunch of +12 or lower and also no melds at all on some gear ).
And then when I point it out they give me an attitude and act like I am being ridiculous for having noticed.
Same people ofc always also screw up mechanics which is why I even inspect them to begin with.
The last one this happened with just unironically tried to make the argument that he didn't have proper melds because he '' doesn't play 24/7 '' and then when I say that neither do I in fact I am perpetually poor and I still manage to meld my gear he was all like '' wow good for you '' and acted like I was being an elitist rofl.
Like my dude, just take the L.
Everyone else in the group knows what's up don't give me an attitude just because I pay attention and noticed your lack of very basic effort.
Especially when you have the audacity to join an enrage exp group and you're still failing repeatedly at the early mechanics.
Like just admit that you're wrong holy shit lol, I don't understand why people have to act stupid about it.
Are they actually stupid for real or are they just incapable of dealing with being called out? I dunno.
But damn it's not the first time and probably won't be the last.
I finally got my Type-53 tank chest, after over a month of grinding Bunker every day for it.
I'm so tired. But I am free.
I had a GNB today complain in Doma Castle about the lack of DPS skills when synced down. "Darn! No continuation combo! How am I supposed to play now? It's so boring!"
Me, the healer, pressing 1111111 for 90% of the fight: ...
Oh my god.
Trials Roulette, SCH, Shinryu. During Diamond Dust, everyone except me and one other person (or two, I was too shocked to register it at first) immediately moved and slid off the platform. Akh Morn right after.
I had absolutely no idea what had happened until someone told me afterwards. Healer jumpscare.
Either I'm not good with SGE yet, lack of playing lately taking it's toll or our dps was so low mobs died way too slow, but I managed to kill my party twice in Zot (with DRK) and once in Vanaspati (with GNB) today. Probably all of the above. At least in Vanaspati it was obvious we can't kill things fast enough, so tank started to pull slower. And it become clear it was MCH underperforming, died on every boss and later apologized for all their deaths: it was their first time playing with a controller. No big deal, everyone need some practice.
As for Zot... Damn things slap hard in there. I should play sage more to get a better grasp on it, I guess. Funny how I'm doing fine in 8man duties while solo healing it, but dungeons give me a hard time. v_v
Lv50/60/70/80 Roulette: Sohm Al (Hard)
Queued as a SCH with my friend (PLD). Our DPSmates are both first timers: DNC and RDM.
DNC does not partner the RDM until I mentioned it to them shortly after 2nd boss. They also have this weird tendency to start a pull with a few casts of AoEs but then backs out to perform their single target rotations after seeing a few red carpet from the mobs goes out. Those standard finishers probably never hit more than 1 mob or sometimes even missing.
RDM is playing an off-healer. Vercure to every bits of damage that scratched our party except the tank. Then again they even start Vercure'ing my friend whenever they drop below 70%. For a few times I actually tried to heal the damage as soon as it goes out just to give the RDM that sense of comfort. But they ain't stopping it. Guess what buddy, go for it. I'll Broil away.
They did gave us both a good laughter: at 2nd t-rex boss, both of them died in each other's sweet embrace to the flaming breath. In our linkshell, my friend typed "Must not laugh" whereas I typed "MY SIDES HURTS HAHAHA".
Friends are having one heck of a time with the doooty finder these last few days so I come sharing more stories from them. I may avoid using it much as can.
The setting is Keeper of the Lake, they are joined by one bard and one red mage. The Red Mage appears to be new, they are watching the cutscenes at the least.
One friend heads towards the first pull of sadness that only contains three helpless crabs when disaster strikes. NTT enters the fight and uses "jank node", the attack is highly effective so friends must now adjust to high latency for duration of dungeon.
I did warn them that low level white mage could be most difficult.. you only have oneeeee ogcd in there on long cooldown. Not that this mattered as damage twas sooooo very low that you could leave to bake one full course meal then return before mobs were dead. Three living dead used with living dead back off cooldown before even reaching last boss. Poor friend healing herself oom nearly every encounter because no one dodged anything.
Final words were "that was exhausting, i'm kinda tired now". Yes, she was unloading holy and stone despite the sheer amount of outgoing damage Keeper of the Lake can do when you stand in the stoopid. Jeeez I have never seen the two magitek colossus live for so long fricken ever. Am both proud and sad at same time for them! ;P
No tale to be told, just found out that A3N actually has an add phase.
I've been playing for over 5 years and I didn't even know.
Titan normal in leveling roulette, Titan Hard in trial roulette, Eden Titan in raid roulette. The bastard was really out to get me today.
Had a really fun attempt at dracula (Hesperos) the other day. Both tanks dc'd about 20 seconds after the fight started. We got so far. The other healer and I were helping a dps who had aggro. It was intense and awesome. People started dropping but we were rezzing. Waiting for a tank to return from disconnect. Eventually a lot of people died by mechs and by being punched by the boss; Tankbusters are just too much. Aggro was on me. I panicked and forgot to use lilybell. It would have been so cool. We would have gotten super close to beating him if I had used that. We wiped. Tank finally got back like right after the wipe. We had a smooth easy run after we had a tank to actually tank. Wanted to put a fun positive experience on here.
For a negative experience; I had to report people for extreme bullying and abuse the other day. Some of most disgusting treatment of another person I've seen in some time. They were bullying a tank who was having trouble.
During Tornado phase, he will spawn adds called "Gear Lubricant" and "Piston Lubricant". It's the phase immediately after the hand splits and he turns into a water vortex. Usually, you can skip this mechanic with decent DPS. It's much easier to see it at min ILVL during Heavensward when no one has any clue how to do mechanics or do good DPS. After this phase, he goes and summon 3 water puddles and begins the final phase.
It's sorta like the World of Darkness alliance raid, where you never see the shadowlurkers pop out anymore.
If the DPS is low enough, right before the clouds that get walled off, there are worms that pop up in random spots, and literally take 1 hit from anything to knock back down to the void. If done right, you can get people walled off fighting the clouds, and have the worms hitting them with debuffs that can end up killing people. Haven't seen the worms myself since early HW, but it was entertaining when it happened like that.
The first time I ever did A3N was in SHB (5.1 maybe?) and I actually saw the invulnerability/adds then! But never again.
It was like a little treat for the newbie.
I ran into a similar situation last week, also in Brayflox, also as a healer. There was a group of 2 causing a lot of problems: a Reaper (older account) and a Warrior (new account). The Warrior didn't have his tank stance on, and didn't put it on when I asked him to. The Reaper was trying to tank instead, but wasn't holding aggro, so it was unduly stressful to heal. I asked the Reaper to let the tank do the pulls, and he said something like "it's fine, I can solo this," except he really couldn't. That's when I noticed that the Warrior was dressed in cloth. I asked why he wasn't wearing tank gear, and the Reaper started raging at me -- "SHUT UP HE'S NEW" -- and that's when I realized they were a duo. But this is Brayflox, it's a level 32 dungeon, like 7 dungeons into the game. How could he be "new" at that point? Did he somehow skip the first 6 dungeons and get more than 30 levels wearing cloth armor with the wrong stats?
I decided to just grin and bear it because I didn't want to leave and get a DF penalty. On the last boss, however, the tank finally put his stance on and held aggro... with the dragon in his healing AOE. The solution was to stop healing and let him die, then let the Reaper pull the dragon off of the AOE. After the fight was over, he raged at me some more. The tank never said one word the entire time.
Since then I've run into a few other situations like this with toxic, suicidal 2-stacks of old / new accounts in the leveling roulette. In any other game I'd guess that they're boosting accounts, but I don't see how that could be profitable in FFXIV.
So got out of A6n on an alt sge for normal raid roulette. War tank ends up eating several Mirage beams to the face and dies.
Me being quick on the dial, I toss a raise their way and was immediately slapped with: "I don't accept resses. It's against my religion."

I sighed as he stayed put on the floor, not respawning as we downed the first boss and moved onto the second. When it became clear he was just going to sit there like a child, I swapped Kardia to the pld tank.
Evidently this pissed off the war, as the second he realized it he immediately got up with about 10 seconds left on his res (I saw the Weakness debuff on him) and zoned into the boss arena that had already been sealed off. I never switched Kardia back to the war as they pretty much told me that they're just gonna be another toddler throwing a silent tantrum. At least the pld tank was competent.
And yes, the war along with 3 dps from the same server as them died to Ultra Flash. Was funny watching spontaneous 999999 damage going out.
Nothing horrible to share, aside from my pain. I've been running The Weeping City a lot lately in an attempt to snag the minion. I juuust finished a run, managed to finally lot higher than the 40's, and then this happens.

Sad times. ._.
Finally queued into 80 stuffs today after long long week of level 50 dungeons!
The Twining! Yay! Happy music and something that allows me to practice the Sage with most of my buttons.
Confidence tis not quite there as have not played with Sage at higher levels in many many moons but all the stuffs tickled. We pull the whooooole world and all goes smoothly until the cages boss. Some slight oopsies later and all the cages are opened, chaos and mass pandemonium ensue yet we survive. As we approach the portal to leave that is when someone types "We let them all out but it's more fun that way! That was awesome." My mood goes from ohhhh shooot to pffffff as confidence is once again restored!
Smooth seas ahead until the final boss where nothing at'all goes wrong. Well, I did decide that standing in the beams during last two percent was good for the health and went splat. Small but unimportant detail!
Twas most nice to have fun relaxing dungeon run after week of not so good luck. 10/10, would experience mass pandemonium and stand in the beams again. If you are out there mister mechanist, your performance was flawless for that being first time there.
LotA on tank, didn't pull the dragon north because it's unnecessary despite my healers wailing about it for no reason, we didn't even wipe...
They spent the rest of the raid grieving me by refusing to heal and using rescue maliciously, and when I replied to them telling me that "I'm not the healer" when I say that keeping the dragon mid is manageable, (which it is, we didn't wipe or suffer any important losses for that matter), that I main healer, they called me a shitty healer because...? Because I'm not intimidated to heal something they're scared of? That makes me the shitty healer out of the 3 of us?
Easy report at least.
I'm... not sure what happened just now.
Waited a healthy amount of minutes and got Dohn Mheg on RDM. I'd been waiting quite a while so I was pumped. Healer is spamming Physick/Adloquium... never mind it, just do your damage, clear this and leave... We get to the first boss, and I'm at my usual bouncy self on the water springs, when all of a sudden, disaster - power goes out in our house, completely. My dad fixed our inverter quickly so that we had at least the internet, a few lights and a plug socket or two running. I hastily reconnect on hotspot just in case something went weird again, find a working socket to plug my charger into, and logged back onto the game ASAP.
I relog, get the Il Mheg loading screen - since I was in Eulmore before queue popped, I was thankful I wasn't kicked - but I load in... and I was at Eulmore. Pity, I'd waited so long for the queue and they removed me so soon. But I guess I couldn't blame them, perhaps they thought I did it on purpose. But weirdly, I had no queue penalty. What happened here? Is there no penalty on the kicked person?
