And still is, actually. The Battle Design Lead is the same person who did XI's battle system. (Akihiko Matsui) The former director of the game Nobuaki Komoto, who also had a hand in XI, is still on the team as Lead Game Designer.

FFXI vets... MMO newcomers... matthew mcconaughey RPing as the character he played in Dazed and Confused... manic depressants... WoWheads... Old school BBSers... Jedi... Sociopaths... D&Ders... Cosplayers... Larpers... Sith... Johnny Depp wearing some ridiculous outfit so people will think he is a good actor even though he hasn't had anything good since Edward Scissorhands...


In short... I want the entire world playing this game

They said it wasn't a sequel a long time ago...people need to stop comparing the games and asking for the same things from XI. If you like XI then go play XI nobody is stopping you, this is a game for a different type of community.

First...read the thread. 2 posts on this very page pointed out that FFXI doesn't exist in the form FFXI vets would WANT to play it in. This makes number three.

Second, Yoshi P. has stated that he wants FFXI vets to be able to enjoy the game too. That doesn't sound like a game for a different community to me, that sounds like a game he wants us involved in. Not just newcomers whether they be casual or hardcore, but everyone FFXI players included. Now, how do you expect him to accomplish that if all they transport over is the races? I'd love to hear your master plan.
