I dunno, SMN has a combat raise, and currently beats out SAM in ST dps in many fights, and has high aoe dps. and utility. Why shouldn't they get a nerf? Here's hoping they nerf NIN and drg next :P

How about they just leave classes alone for a change and start working on adding more content. Like more than 2 dungeons per a patch. Really tiring when seems like they only focus on nerfing classes and giving little buff to others and not content. Don't see playing summoner anymore after these changes already had hard enough time. I don't really give a care about which class does more dps. It all depends on your ping, play style, and gear on how much dps you can do. Never once in any ex roulette have seen a sam do less dmg than my smn. So don't know how smn is beating a sam for dps. From what I have seen Rdm's do more dmg than Sam's do when go over battle logs. If have to watch 40 minutes of cutscene's they better give 5-10 cracked crystals for each day bonus plus 200 of each tomestones and not cracked clusters because those are easy to get from hunts.
Where to start? I main drk in SB cause I like it. I miss my HW dot, would love to have it back. Delirium could have been 60 seconds. TBN is fine at 7 seconds for now. Will tank less now, check out my sch again and hit up my dps more often. (Solid way to un-motivate a tank and lose myself and maybe otherdrk tanks to an already long dps queue SE). I do look forward to monk, those changes are really nice and I can't wait to see how they play.
MSQ roulette, unless the bonus is in the final patch notes I am done with that. With the right bonus, 500 poetic, 500 creation and 100 capped tomes, I don't mind sitting there with a book doing the slow crawl through it but if the pre notes are the bonus change. I am never doing that again. My game time has value and this does not value my time. As an example, in HW I stopped doing CT, ST and WoD. The reward was not worth the queue time and wondering which might be fastest. Now with a chronic DPS bonus, 100 poetics, 100 verity and 50 creation plus an almost certain bonus every run or solid xp if leveling. That is worth doing daily and it is the first and main roulette I run every day. I like all six 24 mans, the reward is solid and the queue time on any job is short. That is how to bring content back to life. This MSQ bonus SE with cut scenes is a solid way to kill the content. Sorry green leaf.
I would have liked to have an eight man normal raid roulette that would have Alex normal A1 to A12 and Omega floors 1 to 4 also since they seem to die fast each time we go up a tier. I have help a bunch of players through A1 to A12 normal and it is pretty easy to explain if the do it sycned. Though most are done unsycned and I do feel they lose the experience and skill learned in the fight. Call it "Normal Raid Roulette", give it the same bonus as the Alliance roulette 100/100/50 and maybe two Mhachi demimatter or a (cracked cluster). It would be fun to add those fights to the daily roulette list.
Last, I hope they got the translation way wrong on glamours as that was not what was said in the live letter. Either way I will use it for my my drk, monk and casters just to check it out. See if it is decent, needs work or is toast and needs to be pulled and rebuilt.
I honestly don't mind any of the roulettes. I take whatever the game gives me. If it dumps me into either main story dungeon, I don't tell anyone to skip or be rude about it if they want to watch their cutscenes and I don't bail the dungeon either. The problem I have with this change is that skipping is completely not an option now.
Unless they don't have it overwrite the optical checked setting of skip play of cutscenes already previously viewed, I'm not keen on running that roulette. I'll enter the dungeons if someone is asking around for people join to help, but as for me entering solo to get exp from the roulette when they increase level cap again, I'll more than likely pass on it.
But...
Which one is it now?
If you dont care about which job does more DPS, why get so worked up about it?
Balancing classes is important to ensure that every job has their place in a raidgroup or even in a normal dungeon - so they do need to make little changes and monitir carefully which jobs are clearing which content.
They also have to be balanced for Savage Raids - SMN brings raid utility to the table (raises, buffs), SAM doesnt so they need to deal more damage to make up for that, simple as that.
Edit: I checked the patchnotes again for SMN-changes, expecting to find something that fundamentally changes their gameplay... and all thats gonna happen are literally small potency nerfs on a couple of skills. The way you play the class will most likely stay the same, just with slightly smaller numbers to ensure for a better balance among classes. So if you like summoner for their gameplay, that stays the same... if you're not running a parser you most likely wont even notice those changes.
I'm saying that as a main paladin btw - I couldnt care less about the nerf my favorite job is getting because it will still be the same gameplay there.
I'm sure others have likely mentioned this, but I can't believe they added an option for disabling normal battle music (good) while completely overlooking FATE music.
Also, the MSQ Roulette changes are a terribad idea, the new Glamour system looks to be another half-arsed complex system layered on top of the existing half-arsed complex system, and Eureka being delayed means, as usual, a relative dearth of long-term content. At least the Ananta quests and the Triple Triad changes will be decent additions...
Uh... Samurai will be among the weakest jobs overall doing into 4.2. Leaving the jobs "as they are" just ensures more people enforce particular jobs. There's a reason why Dragoon and Ninja are the overwhelming majority for DPS. With many statics looking to progress Ultimate now, it's virtually impossible to find groups willing to take Monk or Samurai. Even MrHappy, of all people, sat out almost all of 4.1 because so few groups were willing to take Monk. Job changes are far more important than another mindless dungeon we'll speed through in twelve minutes.
Anyone else notice the warsteeds from pvp being able to fly now? Like why focus on that first than the primal ponies this patch just has facepalm all over it.
I had a good laugh about that, but: I'm very happy about that change aswell. The reason why the warsteeds are going to fly, but the primal ponies arent is most likely: The primal ponies are extremly easy to obtain now. They're nothing special - the warsteeds are. I've always been dissapointed that my warsteed almost got no use.
It would be nice to see the primal ponies fly aswell and I dont really understand what would be so difficult about that... but I get why the PvP-horses are getting special treatment - yes, I want to show off my magnificent, flying warsteed!
Eh they play the realm reborn primal themes so I do kinda want them to fly at this point. Don't see what is so hard about reusing the pegasus flights for the ponies they already have the elements around their feet so not that far from being reasonable.
I care about not wasting my time, which is what clicking through the same (long) cutscenes over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again would be. It honestly doesn't matter how good the rewards would be at this point, to me.Quote:
All these people saying they'll never do MSQ Roulette now just proves how flawed the Roulette system is to begin with. The intent behind it was to get vets to help new players experience old content, but of course nobody actually cares about the new players, they just care about that sweet loot.
I don't even care if other people watch their cutscenes, but I should not be forced to. There's just no good reason for that.
Considering it was Main Scenario Roulette, and not random non story roulette, I think in this case, the players have only themselves to blame. How many times have you run that roulette only to see new people lost, confused, and unhappy because players have left them in the dust and older players saying "just watch it on youtube or in the inn, stop making us wait." It was a roulette for story content. heavy story content.
Maaaagic~
Literally, though, for the effort and rarity of them, making them useless as mounts (not able to fly) just stops players from working towards them.
The ARR ponies also unlock the Kirin mount, which can fly. Also, the armored Tank mounts can fly. And a giant turtle. So can a few chairs. A horse is nothing that out there.
Well, that's precisely what people will do.
That is precisely the issue the entire ruckus on that topic is all about. If you haven't noticed from Diadem at the latest, there's a distinct connection between the amount of people running a piece of content and the time it takes to get into that content.
"Speedrunners" don't give a rats butt, this isn't a punishment for them. They'll just queue for something else for their rewards. There's no reason for them to be concerned about themselves - The only one to be concerned about are newbies who'll have to deal with the consequences of "Don't like it, don't run it.", i.e. queue times, mentors leaving at the start etc.
To be fair, that's what the unanimous opinion is. Which means new players will now be faced with potentially waiting hours on a queue. Great way to stick it to the veterans... who don't even care?
Again, blamed for what? Unless the EXP is absurdly high or they stuff cracked crystals as an incentive, I'll just never even look at MSQ Roulette again. This change only impacts me whenever I decide to do Mentor Roulette. On the other hand, new players may suffer extremely long wait times. What some of you don't seem to get is the people you're pointing your finger at don't care. They'll go elsewhere to get their EXP and Poetics. New players don't have that option.
Just a guess, but I feel like they meant "Blamed for it changing" because people treated it as a means to speedrun the rewards, not to help people trying to get through it. Now SE changed it to become "Helping people get through it" and people are raging.
My guess, anyways. I'll probably still run it, because when I did before, I always made sure that if there was someone new I would be there to lead them around. This won't be much different.
I think the biggest concern for me is, I knew 5 seconds after reading what they intended to do with the cut-scenes precisely what the outcome of doing it would be. How out of touch with the game actual must developers be in order to think that this was a good idea?
Suspension of disbelief needs to be justifiable. I can believe Kirin can fly because he has magic light wings, I can believe adamantoise can fly because of his rocket engine farts, I can believe Fenrir can fly because you literally see the ice magic holding him up.
I think the Devs are getting really lazy with this, the Christmas bear has no justification to be able to fly (it should have the same ice particle effects as Kirin) and neither do these horses
Hey, thats what rewards are for. If SE would not put any reward in to the dungeon many ppl would not run that dungeon, that was the trade off from SE to help the ques for newbs. As you can see they even added 80+ poes to rewards. If we are supposed to help newbs than why they gives us rewards? Why do they put a reward in a system where ppl should help newcomers aka Mentor system? Theres reason why is so many bad mentors bc they all care for the reward not to help the newbs. You can only blame SE for this.
They weren't that rare. They only are now because the mode pops so infrequently that getting 200 or 300 matches to get 100 wins is ridiculous. When it popped often you could get those matches much easier.
And I can be ok with magic if the mount was magical. I mean, even if it had steel wings or something to match the barding. But it's very realistic a mount compared to everything else in game, and I just went WTF when I saw the picture.
edit: Adamantoise flying is a literal joke, it's a call back to Gamera, who was the second most popular japanese giant monster back in the day next to Godzilla. He's kind of dead now in terms of popularity, but if you are Yoshi's age whether JP or westerner you probably watched him a lot growing up. A lot of the tropes people attach to Godzilla actually started with him, like the whole friend to children thing.
Egh. With flying being a thing, mounts that can't do it aren't a viable choice and less desired and since they are used as an incentive for activity X and Y, that means you need to make them able to fly to keep the incentives intact, no matter how silly it might be.
I expect the silliness to escalate further unless they find a way to make ground only mounts viable for travel after flying is unlocked.
You know, it occurs to me that a better solution would have simply been to prevent people from continuing until everyone was out of their cutscene (or after X minutes, in case someone's a REALLY slow reader and/or went AFK to troll). At least then we could get up, stretch, get a drink, use the restroom, whatever, and not have to spam-click through the cutscenes.
...of course, the best option would have been to shift these to solo instances with NPC companions, but clearly SE would prefer to make Pharos Sirius available to the NPC Squadrons. Incidentally, considering Squadrons really don't seem to have dungeon-specific AI routines, why in the hell can't we use them anywhere we want? There shouldn't be any implementation barriers in four-man content.
Ahhh I always love these threads. People complaining about stuff before they even got to try said stuff. #popcorn
That said, I'm excited for the following:
- Stacks going upto 999 instead of 99
- Being able to turn off battle music in fields, when random mobs target you
- The new housing plots (Hopefully relocating to a medium)
- Teleporting to any of your friend's houses
- The new estate NPC's (wonder what they sell/do) and the increase of NPC's able to use in an estate along with this.
- The new hairstyles
- Glamour system. I'm so ready to clear up some inventory space
Can't think of anything else atm, and I will have to try out all other features before deciding if I like it or not :3
Hi. I have a question. When I have an Alt in another FC (not the leader, just a ordinary member), can I still buy a FC House as a FC leader for my FC?

Not according to info that was posted on the live letter translation.
The changes to Triple Triad alone makes this a good patch. That the icon above the NPC now tells wether there's still more to obtain here or not, and the same for the match registration window. Thank you!
Edit: OH! And items stacks of 999! :O
Oh, that's not good news. Thank you for your answer.
