Male Bunny Outfit

Really all they'd have to do is unlock the ears we already have, maybe copy-paste the exact same cuff-links, and make a new-ish pair of slacks for this and people would be happy.

I did. It's a mess. Some people are adamant about crossdressing, some other people want their own version of the bunny outfit, and others just want something they're not even sure of considering how much gear is actually made for male characters that just happen to not be gender locked.

Interesting thought. After all, it's not like "crossdressing," gender play, and feminized men are hugely prevalent in Japanese culture, history, and popular alternative media or anything......oh wait.

Eh, I don't want to dress my character in female clothing and I feel like there's enough options for people to do that already if they so wish.

I want a pair of bunny ears because I think they'd look hilarious. I want more smart, tastefully revealing clothing that shows off the masculine elements of the male form. A tweaked version of the bunny outfit could work for that. As it stands, I don't even care that much about the outfit itself. I care about the discrepancy between male and female glamour options. I care about something being promised and then left in a state of 'we're working on it' for years. I care about the unfairness of people requesting Edda's set only to be told it'd need to be worked on from scratch...only for it to be added to the Mog Station a couple of months later.

I don't want to speak for anybody else but for me it's much, much more than just about the outfit itself. There's a bigger, more glaring elephant in the room that needs to be addressed.

The problem here is that people want the bunny outfit but one party wants what the females have, the other wants something masculine. Party A loses out if it's masc, party B loses out if it's femme.

SE doesn't even have to come up with an outfit, just unlock the ears and let the players work their glamour magic. I'm far from well-versed in the art of 3D modeling, but wouldn't that be relatively easy to do, programming-wise? So what's stopping SE exactly?

I may be missing something here but I'm not seeing anyone belonging to your mythical "party A" that supposedly wants the exact female bunny suit for guys. All I'm seeing is people asking for a male version to be made.

At this point I would be happy with almost anything, but honestly this would be the absolute best-case scenario for me. But I mostly only want the bustier and fishnets for the Rocky Horror cosplay potential, so I wouldn't be super broken up if we only got something serious.

I agree with ErryK - if it's taken SE this long to work on ONE version, would we be waiting until the heat death of the universe for two?

I also agree with previous posters that it is not much work, technically speaking, to unlock the bunny ears for all genders. There is work involved for sure with fitting and QA/UAT analysis testing before releasing it. But it's chump change compared to a unique rigging like the new sweater that was released this patch- the model is there and already created and fitted to size from Lalafel to Roegadyn (female). The work to extend that fitting to male models is small in comparison to creating a new item from scratch and fitting to ALL models (male and female) in the game. SE what are you doing if you aren't working on this?

Third agreement - Theodric is a cool guy. This thread shouldn't really be about the female bunny outfit being adapted for males, and I'm sorry for partially derailing it a few pages back. Just to be clear, Theodric is cool and no bully pls. New male bunny outfit designed for guys PLEASE~

Don't get me wrong, though - I would love to see two versions of the outfit created. That'd help make everybody happy. I just don't have faith in such a thing happening in a timely fashion, if at all. I do hope that our feedback will be passed on to the developers, though...and that they'll come to recognise what could be done better in the future.

Male glamour is a sore spot for me in general, though, for various reasons. It was very difficult and time consuming for European players to get their hands on the butler and eastern journey attire, for instance. :(

I've been looking forward to the male bunny outfit since they first announced it was going to be a thing. I still check the gold saucer every patch in hope.

Great now to save up MGP for another bunny chief set twice...Gotta make that lizard & roe booty pop!

Uh..they aren't. The otaku subculture is not representative of Japanese people as a whole, and there really isn't that much historical basis for it otherwise. Don't make the mistake that Japan=anime.

You know, while I'm not intersted in it personally, I'd like to see it implemented already, if only to clear it off the "to do" list. Maybe it's a lesser priority, even to SE, but I say get it done and added so it's not still looming over the devs' heads and being asked about in Q&A sessions.

Yeah. It needs to be added to the game sooner rather than later. I don't want at least one question at each Fan Fest to be devoted to the outfit. It'd be understandable, but hopefully it'll finally be a thing by that point...
