Why are most players content with putting on generic glamour?

I don't harvest or craft so I cannot glamour anything. Unless FF XIV gets same wardrobe cosmetic system than LOTRO or similar I get punished along with everyone else who doesn't craft and gather.

What about using the Market Board to purchase your glamours?

You don't need to have a gatherer or crafter to be able to glamor, you only need to do the lv 50 glamor quest in Mor Dhona. Once you've done that you can glamor your gear.
