Never say never, we met shantoto from XI in a simple event and lightning from XIII in another.
Hello there, new forum user here.
I think that either Tactics or XII settings would be great for the Return to Ivalice raid. I just wish it was more than a raid, rather the areas, like Dalmasca, can be explorable.
Thanks Lilseph. I've always considered my namesake as an unsung hero in the series, so I tried honoring him. Lol. Aside from the fact that I love the Ivalice world.
I just hope that the entry ilevel for the first raid will not be that high. Wouldn't it be ironic if the gears from that raid (which hopefully will be nice enough for glamour use) will resemble somehow the gears of equivalent jobs from tactics? lol. I wouldn't want to be caught wearing something like what Vaan is wearing, though.
I think it will most likely drop gear that's equal to or slightly better than Normal Deltascape gear, so it will probably require the same item level.
The 24-man Alliance raids have mostly served as catch-up mechanics rather than real end-game content, so the chances that it will be as demanding as Savage Deltascape is slim.
To enter, usually it is more or less the same ilvl than the normal 8 players raid, or close to not-upgraded tome gear, so 310. Based on the HW raids, it should even be 300 since deltastice nm is 295.
The drop should be 310 upgradable 330 more or less 5ilvl.
Thought it depends if it is before or after they change tome gear (usually they don't, they change it when they update the 8 players raid). After checking what they did before, I would say 325 not-upgradable.
Yup, 24-man raids' gear always had 10 ilvls less than the current max ilvl so 330 is a safe bet.
Don't worry about it. World of Darkness, being the last raid of ARR, had an average ilvl requirement of 90 when the cap was 130. Dun Scaith, being the last raid of HW, required you to be at least ilvl 235 on average when the cap was 270. I'm guessing they will repeat the formula and set it between 300 and 310.
I'll be honest I hope we get to see a sneek peak of the veira in the RtI 24m cas with everything that's been said in intervews and live leters it's safe to asume they will be a race at some point
This raid is a god send to all tactics and FFXII followers.
Get ready for Saturday live letter. Info incoming.
I have never been this excited for a 24 man raid dungeon
Is this actually legit?
It's an old topic from 9 months ago...but I hadn't heard of this before.
Hopefully Viera don't come of this. Ugh.
Can't wait to find out more. Wonder what era it's gonna be? Era of XII with airships and other races, or era of tactics WOTL?
The 24 man should be added soon, it gives something to do i guess
Ultimately the only real reason is because a very vocal portion of the community happen to want Viera as a playable race. Often citing anything to do with Ivalice as justification even though...the Viera were a very minor part of Ivalice and the real reason to fawn over Ivalice is the exceptional plot, intrigue and nuances of what is a very vast and in-depth setting.
We don't need a new race. What we need first and foremost is more customisation options for the existing playable races. To fix the lack of eyebrows for Highlander men, for instance. The excuse that they shave them in honour of Ala Mhigo and to intimidate their foes is silly justification when you consider that not every Highlander is going to embrace such a practice. Furthermore, they didn't have the women do it - quite blatantly because it'd look very ugly.
No new races are likely to be anything overly unusual, either - just humans with slight tweaks. Which isn't necessarily bad - but we don't need it until the issues with the existing races are dealt with first.
Also we want viera because they were shamelessly teased for Heavensward then veto-ed because they were "too human looking", then they stripped the more demonic designs from the Au Ra to...make them more hume-like, so a lot of us that were hyped for the Viera feel cheated :D
I invite you to show me when they've ever mentioned anything at all about introducing more character customization options for the currently playable races. We've been asking for all of the options you mentioned for YEARS now, and nothing at all has ever been stated. Until we get more substantial options for the current ones or if they can't/won't, we need a new race. I mean of course technically we don't need anything at all, I'm perfectly fine with my Miqo, I think Viera is as repulsive as Au Ra. Though if the past is any indication, any new races added will just be a total disaster. How about we appease the vocal minority, maybe they'll move along to something more productive? I mean SE does it all the time. Plus... you do realize that when Au Ra was released, people were saying the exact same thing? "We need more options for the existing races, not a new one."
Also, tell us more of the real reasons why we should like Ivalice. The "vast" plot and setting mean nothing if you do not care one way or the other for the people involved it.
That's a good sign if it is in the 300-310 range. I'm currently at 316 and been trying to get more stuff, since I am not good at savage raids, i dont normally go to cap ilevels. lol.
Come to think of it I still have to do those other 24-man raids just for the sake of completion, hopefully before Ivalice kicks in. lol.
We are getting a 24 man raid roulette too
They're just not really very unique when put together with other races in FFXIV. Sure, their ears will make them stand out, but other than that... they'e mostly meh. Humans with rabbit ears and probably rabbit feet if SE figures out how to make that work.
I can say with confidence that this raid cannot make Viera a playable race. They can appear as NPC's, but you can't make a race that doesn't exist (until a certain point in time, being after the Ivalice Raid) playable... unless you don't care about your games own lore, or a XIV variation of the race already exists on a distant land (but then they won't be called Viera).
About darn time.
I won't get excited about the Judges armour but I will probably die if we get it. (As much as I want it I very much doubt it)
willing to suffer to queue the ivalice raid repeatedly for a Judge Armor
I think they once mentioned it'll be more directed towards tactics Ivalice. Which has no judges at all. besides the political driven story the most unique thing were the lucavi. I wonder if we fight those. on the other hand we already fought cuchulainn, we have a belias incarnation during the smn job quest line and the ascians are kinda related to the lucavi as well.
that makes me wonder what were are gonna fight in this raid series. I personally hope it's not just oversized humanoid judges. would feel like syrcus tower again.
maybe we know more after the live letter
The problem with the judge's sets, is that they're very similar than the Garleans'. I really hope I could use Gabranth's armor, but Balthier's is quite alright.
Hey now. We all know that DRG and Tanks will be sharing the exact same gear design. If not that, then Scouting and Aiming will be sharing the exact same gear design.
The Judge in pink also kinda uses a staff-sword of sorts (in a way, think RDM). Can kinda see it here.
I hope Ramza Beoulve will show up as our guide.
And about the gear sets:

They're going to be talking about this during the 14 hour broadcast right? When is that, again?
this saturday but I don't remember the timeframe for the LL
