Do you even pay attention to the story at all? Because I'm really getting the feeling you don't. The reason we don't summon the actual Primals is due in part to two reasons:

1. Typically the summoning requires a lot of crystals, more than what can be carried by a single person
2. Primals have a real nasty habit of sucking aether up where ever they're summoned.. which I hope you understand, is bad for Hydaeln (the planet)

And I already know what you're thinking. "But Iceheart summoned forth Shiva without crystals when defending us!" You're right. She did, and I don't have an absolute answer to that. Perhaps it's just a plot hole or perhaps it's a plot device we'll figure out later further in the story. I can only make assumptions on how she did it, for instance perhaps to summon Shiva she gave herself to her (enthrallment) meaning she may not have came back to us even had she not been killed.

Or perhaps I'm missing something altogether, in which case anyone feel free to correct me.

And the difference between that and Garlean gunblades... seriously? One is a godly supreme detriment to the planet, the other is crafted by mortals, wielded by mortals, therefore dropped if you killed said mortals, and if dropped by slain mortal then it can be picked up; presumably, by any other mortal.. or immortal for that matter and be wielded by them. You're trying to compare apples to elephants... knock it off.

A good portion of that money is paying for the server upgrade we are getting in 4.0 which will give us the inventory upgrade everyone demands and why Bloodstorm apparently has a budget 3 times larger than HW.

Companies exist to make a profit. That has always been the case. Your mixing up non profit organisations with businesses and even when the desire of the staff of a Company is to make good games, a company is still focused on money and profit. Those that aren't usually don't last.

Going purely off of memory, Ysayle did it by giving herself up to Shiva, rather than by using crystals. There are crystals that sprout from where Ysayle stands, but they're more ice crystals, iirc, rather than ones filled with aether. Incidentally, PCs can already do something like that as a SMN through Dreadwyrm Trance.

Just went and watched it (was on my way to the Inn when I realized "Hey, probably on youtube! Shiva vs Ravana, there you are.) There are crystals in the same room when she transforms and it does focus on Aether being drawn from them when she goes to transform. Crystals of Ice DO form under her though as the transformation starts.

I believe Dreadwyrm Trance is us using the attuned aether within us? I just did that quest yesterday but I confess to not being the best with SMN lore.

Neither of them were fired though. Sakaguchi resigned after Spirits Within bombed. Remember how bad it bombed? It bombed so bad that the only reason Square is still around is because it merged with Enix. He hasn't stopped doing games either, and apparently started forming a new company just this year.

Tanaka left Square for "health reasons." I don't believe they were ever stated, but it wouldn't surprise me if stress from XIV 1.0 not doing well didn't help whatever it was plauging him. He as well hasn't left the video game market completely, as he (I believe still does atleast) works for GungHo Online. Even has ideas for a new online (non-MMO) game it seems.

Also, forum wise if you want to get past the 1000 char limit, you can do so via editing your post. That way you don't need to double post.

Actually I'm comparing something that's debatable to something that's unpredictable. Lore is easily molded to fit whatever comes to the creator's mind. If Ice Heart can change into Shiva for some reason without using Crystals, and it never makes sense, Primal summons come from the determination of the summoner. As for the detriments of the planet (and this is a spoiler)

Hydaeln went to the Warriors of Darknesses world to take back the Light that destroyed their world, using the former Warrior's light strength to use Minfilia as an emissary to watch over our world.

In that respect, we can say that by using primals we can prevent the over abundance of light if used accordingly. So yeah, massive elephant compared to your apples, but you get the point. Its not so crazy as for the events we get in the game now. The only reason as to why people don't want the primals as transformations for us is because they hate the dramatic change of what the Player is allowed to do. Be scared all you want. Making up excuses for why a simple cosmetic or a new found ability (thats blatently similar to pomours from Deep Dungeon most likely) is against the lore is flat out ridicoulous.

This is why lore is a horrible excuse, too many variables to not have stuff. I honestly forgot about that seraph cane though....

It should be a pass in the cashshop that you buy for 20 bucks and with this pass you're allowed to take on an event ingame. It's fate farming. Minimum 1500 fates. If you're unlucky (drop rate of needed items will be low) you might have to do more fates. Once you get all the items you can turn them in for A HALF of the wings. The second half needs another pass that you need to buy. You can't equip only one half so u definitely need to spend 40 bucks in total. The outfit you get for an additional 20 bucks. Only equippable if you have the complete wings.

The outfit in the artwork is lovely but the in-game version is a bit underwhelming. The bardings are adorable though and I'd happily get both if/when they ever come to the NA/EU. What I'm pretty miffed at though is the fact that hair in the artwork, is fabulous and I would want it on my man'qote and naturally of course its not available...

That being said I know we games like TERA, Aion etc which have wings and pretty cosmetic items in them but I like the idea of wings especially on a cute lalafell like mine - but just not those ones...If we can gets ones like Alexander then sure, sign me up. If he can have pretty wings, shouldn't we have nice pretty ones also - not tacky meh ones?

Wings in a CS is not the same as wings outside of a CS

Like some already said we already have monsters with wings so having someone in Eorzea design clothes with some wings on them is not really that off. I would love to see how they look ingame while moving but at least the barding looks great.

And I am a little annoyed that somehow being F2P makes a game bad..there are a lot of trash MMOs out there but not every single one of the F2P is trash..(Would they suddenly become a gem if they get a sub?:rolleyes:) And other people already showed that even FF games had characters with wings..so is FF trash? (I did play some F2P and some of them had quite the nice looking mounts and clothes.)

I just hope for all those people that dont want this to come over just because they dislike it that they will remember this if they ever have a glamour item they want and dont get it thanks to others.

And like some said: That pig outfit totally looks like it belongs to Eorzea. :rolleyes: People wear funny outfits all the time even in serious cutscenes..oh and I hope that the people that dislike it that much also dont want Clouds bike ingame.

Its completely fine to find something ugly and not want to buy it but going around and hoping that it wont come is really sad..and please dont try to explain it by saying that it breaks immersion and things like that..we would need to take out quite some mounts/clothes/minions/furniture if that is a reason to not include something.

And why do I want it: Because I believe that everyone should be able to get an item, because exclusive items are horrible imo especially if they are created by our development team thus also using our money and time for it...I mean they could have used the time to already create the Edda glamour and a male variation for it..

The overall issue in this thread isn't about not buying what we don't like. That's a given.

The issue is seeing those nasty things on other people. Big, nasty, in-your-face, f2p mothertruckin', candy-ass wings

The lore arguments in this thread baffle me. Here is the lore: "I went to my friend's house that happen to be a crafter and we took a lot of feathers and wood and supplies and we made these cool wings to attach into our character's costumes! No, we cant fly with them, they made of wood, feathers and glue!"
