Eh, it could be a lot worse. Lalafell are pretty tame compared to something like Elin from TERA. Lalafell are quite literally potato-shaped like you mentioned, Elin are blatantly sexualized.

Except, there really is an awful lot of Furries playing both aforementioned races. That's not even including Worgen, which has a higher percentage of Furries than both previously mentioned races combined due to reasons.

I actually miss being a lala. Went Hyur couple months ago, then finally Au ra today. Feels really awkward and sorta wish I'd just used the fantasia to go back lala. The only thing I don't like about them is how gear is smooshed into this tiny frame and you do miss out on a lot of detail.

They are little cute puppets!

Lalafells are things to pet, like cats, chocobos, chocobo hatchlings and behemoths.

Lalafell are cute and fun to be around. Their emotes are wonderful and bring a smile to my face.

I enjoy playing them a lot. They are easily my favorite FFXIV race.

However, I understand if other folk don't like them. Thankfully, there are other races for those people to play.

Otakus in Japan are just collectors, usually people collect things related to TV shows. But it can be anything. My Dad found this out when a Japanese co-worker came over and saw the garage full of every tool imaginable.
