I've seen lots of stupid threads on this forum since 1.0, but I think this one takes the cake.

Dropping a game because the dev's won't add pointless PSN trophies. Achievements and trophies are pointless gimmicks developers use to try to add replay-ability to their games.

I'm going to preserve my sanity and assume OP was being "ironic" or something.

Square-enix isnt even in charge of Playstation Network Trophies.

Why are all the threads in the official forums full of unwarranted entitlement, salty sentiment and severe cases of whining? You don't get this elsewhere, why is it such a thing here? First of all sorry you posted your concerns here. The community can become toxic fast as they can only respond in the form of insults or something condescending. Personally I would worry more about that then trophies.

Also, you may want to look more towards Sony on this issue. Square is usually on top of everything. Sony and Microsoft have rules to use there services. I can bet it's sitting on someones desk at Sony as we speak. It may come or not it's just still in the air. (kinda like an Xbox One version)

In the mean time enjoy Heavens Ward. It's still a great game!

You think *this* is making a stand? What principle are you quitting over? It's not like trophies exist in the PC or Mac versions, so you're not missing out on anything. Trophies are nothing more than ways to continue the epeen from in-game to an out-of-game context. If you really love the expansion, why are you allowing a non-issue to take you from it, actually, no, you're the one taking yourself from the game. It's not the lack of trophies taking you from the game, it's your own skewed perception of the importance of virtual tick marks on an achievement list.

Do these trophies really give you that much validation that you'll quit things you profess to love because they lack PSN trophies?

Holy crap, I've played PlayStation games since the original PlayStation, and before that on an ancient Atari 2600, and even before that playing monochrome variants of Pong on a crappy little Binatone thing, and never once have I considered quitting a game because it lacked a way for me to publicly brag to friends and associates about how great I thought I was.

I'm sorry, there are a lot of reasons to call some parts of our community toxic, but this is not one of them. The OP made their post as if it was some matter of great import, taking a principled stand etc... about PSN trophies in a cross platform game that doesn't feature trophies on any other platform at all. They clearly stated that the trophies are more important to them than a game that they actually profess to love. How do you think a general discussion forum of a cross platform game is going to respond to such an expression of self importance and entitlement? I thought they were pretty mild.

Guess what, if they did add trophies, they'd be mostly based off whether or not you got the corresponding in game achievement.

I think it's the fact he was ignored after gaining support from other players more so than the actual trophies that has angered him.

As someone above has said though, I imagine PSN would have more input to add additional trophies, not SE.

If you are serious though then that is something else. I don't even wait for the damn trophy thing to load when I accidently go to it when trying to hit something else.
The achievement in the game are way harder than the trophies they would give...go for those instead and post them to your instagram....LOL

All haters aside (I personally like to collect 'extra pointless data' and have many platinums including FFXIV, and also have more than 7k in-game achievements), is there any reason why PSN trophies were not added? This is, like, the only PS3/PS4 $5+ worth DLC without trophies. PS trophies were mandatory to be added by developers to all games since 2009.
But maybe there are exceptions for MMOs, FFXI does the same thing, there are X360 achievements only for 'Wings of the Goddess' and all other expansions are ignored.

Just want to say that out of all of the reasons people have given for leaving this game, this one takes the cake as the most absurd I've stumbled across. Sadly, the don't have a trophy for that achievement, so I guess it's not going to help the OP.

LAWL QQ, I play on ps4 don't care about dam trophies. never heard of playing a game for fun and to enjoy...no okey...there the QQ van go ride it.
