No thanks they already use consol limitations as an easy out enough as it is.

Okay you're not worth arguing with. You keep contradicting yourself and going on about why this WONT work for FFXIV, without providing reason why it wont work. The short story is, it wasn't allowed before, it IS allowed now. If Yoshi wants to do it, he now can. Regardless of if 'this isnt something special microsoft has done' or, 'burnout paradise did this before'.
xbox1 = more load screens and lag
Yoshi-P said the reason they weren't bringing FFXIV to X1 was because Microsoft wouldn't allow it, and that they wanted to have their own exclusive servers. This change in policy should help to make that from being the roadblock.
I don't think anyone who plays XIV cares to know if someone is playing on PC/PS/X1, but if MS doesn't prevent Yoshi-P from releasing the game on the X1, then I'd consider that a win.
The conversation regarding how they get a piece of the pie, I fully understand, and that could cause issues with getting the game on the X1. I just hope this was the last major hurdle, and the ones that are left, will help this to move forward.
With the XB1 MS changed their policy, since XI was on the 360, and it was cross platform, but with the XB1 MS said that they wouldn't allow it.
No one here is thinking this was a technical issue whatsoever, but according to many interviews that Yoshi-P gave on the topic, he's stated multiple times that the reason the game isn't on the XB1 is because Microsoft didn't want cross platform with PS4, and that they wanted their own servers.
I'm sure there are other issues, and if they exist, hopefully we'll be able to help get those walls down too... This is a victory, but the quest still isn't completed. :)
I don't even need to see the rest of your posts to tell you lost this argument. There are some things you only say when there is no valid response, or when you're 13.
Anyways, I hope that Microsoft does let FF14 come to XB1. The game's doing pretty well even as a PC/Playstation exclusive; I can only imagine it would grow further with a new crowd to market to.
There is no argument to lose, there is simply fact and assumption. Suggesting I'm 13 because I think the poster who I was discussing things with should look in a mirror for a more accurate reflection of what they said of me? Good grief, there are some willfully blind people in this topic.
Looks like Phil Spencer wants to see this happen - https://twitter.com/XboxP3/status/709480925038391296
:)
XB1 is weaker than the PS4. PS4 is more game-centric, XB1 is more multimedia-centric.
Oh boy... more limitations.
: ^ )
Sorry I need object to this idea as op is outdate ^^;
Xbox1 sold extremely poor in Japan, now it just wants more ppl on their sinking ship to help.
There will be no benefit or advantage to this game and it's players.
I support YoshiP to be smart and DON'T look back to M$!
Well recent estimates put Xbox One sales at roughly 20 million units, so if even 1/4 of those sales are active users, putting FFXIV on Xbox One (even more so if it gets featured on the front page of their store), is at least advertisement to over 5 million people. Why would you pass that up? The advantage would be even more players to play with, more money being pumped into SE, which could equal more developers, more content, and overall, a better experience for all players.
The disadvantages of the Xbox One vs PS4 are largely exaggerated, yes, the PS4 is better in a lot of ways, but the Xbox One is hardly a lacking console, and could run FFXIV almost as well as PS4. If anything, the lower-end PCs are the only thing holding the game back if the PS3 is removed from the equation, not the current-gen consoles.
Yep! And also, Xbox runs windows, PC runs windows. Hopefully it's that simple. Having this game come out on XB1 would benifit more, then it would hurt. And you're 100% right, after PS3, low end PCs will be the limitting factor before these consoles will be. And if Phil Specner is talking about XB1 being a platform that is upgraded over time, then it really is becoming a PC (X)(Steam)(Box) for your TV.
And to note, that while this tread is currently talking about XB1, I also want to see it for NX, and any other new platforms that come out where it would be awesome to have this game. :)
Why do you keep resurrecting this thread? The problem with an XBone release is not, nor will ever be Square's fault. It is all about Microsoft and their want for Gold Live functionality (complete with Gold Live price). The NX won't be an issue at all as Nintendo is practically down the street and Japanese companies love to work together, happens all the time. I mean, as an example, Square and Capcom did a collaboration in Monster Hunter and neither company seemed the worse for it and Capcom didn't pitch a fit nor even batted an eye over Final Fantasy Explorers. The problem is, and likely forever be, an XBone release being marred by the insistence on Gold Live to work.
To OP: no thanks, cross platform play already holds this game back from being way better than it could be already by catering to the limitations of shit-tier consoles.
