Bahamut Coil Saves

The reason why this is not done is because for some reason companies are afraid of top end players with nothing else better to do will spend all their time gearing up, even though there are games where it is entirely possible to funnel loot and you'll find people have better things to do with their time than giving loot to some guy.

At any rate a trivial fix to this problem is that if you ever have a mix of guys already with and without lockout, then loot will be done ala the 'personal loot' system of WoW. That is, if you got 7 guys who clear turn 1 and 1 guy who did not, the 7 guys obviously can't roll at all, and the 1 guy who did not do turn 1 rolls against the game at 25% chance to get a random piece of loot that turn can drop (can be refined to something that is more friendly) since that's his normal chance in a normal group (2 loot divided by 8 guys).

Allowing people back in is a terrible idea:

1) 8 people finish coil, distribute loot 8 ways, 7 run person 9 through. Person 9 now gets ALL the loot. I wanna be person 9.. all the time.
2) People sell titan runs, they'll sell coil runs and give whoever is willing to pay obscene gil all the drops. We already carried people in 1 and 2..
3) combination of 1 and 2, basically the static group running it will be at a disatvantage, since they will always distribute loot 8 ways, but new people getting carried can gear insanely faster, multiple classes.

So, never going to happen!

No, plenty of people are perfectly happy with running coil once per week at the moment and having decent drop rates when they do it. All that change would mean is people who play a bit less have even less of a chance of getting drops than now. Not fair at all. As it stands at the moment the rate of gear acquisition from Coil is probably exactly where SE want it. Also, as much as it's disappointing some people, it's there for our own good at the moment so we don't a) get bored of coil and b) don't cap our gear out before the next patch.

You have to be trolling right...? I'm assuming you didn't play much XI so never took part in Salvage and Voidwatch? (I'll give you a hint, 1/100 drop rates for some items. Nobody sane wants to deal with that again).

There are games where you can trivially pull off the stuff people claim would be bad, but in games you can pull it off people quickly realize that if loot is so easy to get there's really no point to even go thorugh any extra effort to farm this stuff extra times in a lockout as opposed to just doing it once every lockout. And if you tried to sell this stuff you'll generally find there's plenty of competitors. The only reason you'd even consider doing this is if the content is easy, but if content is easy people wouldn't be in a hurry to farm this multiple times in one lockout. I mean everything people said right now already applies for Titan already, but you sure don't see people just keep on farm Titan. There are some attempts to sell Titan, but given I see the same guys never leaving Mor Dhona I'd guess they don't have too many sales.
