Yesterday I did AK with a tank that was new (and forgot to equip his high level weapon, which he seems to have left on the retainer so he had a level 36 weapon equipped >_> )
We all knew the tank was new and I said that even though he was lacking in the gear department I'd still give it a try.
We explained everything to him on every boss and even joked around with eachother.
Wiped a few times but it didn't really matter.
We finished the run with about 15 minutes remaining (so we spent 105 minutes doing the dungeon).
I had fun even though the fact that it took so long. Yes we wiped a couple of times and yes it took forever but it was 1 of those runs where I had the pleasure of playing with other players that seemed to enjoy it as much as I did.
@OP: Sorry to read that your experience was ruined :(
Do remember though that there are plenty of easy-going players out there.
(1000 characters on a forum is ridiculously low :( had a lot more to say)

So you ask people to use common sense and yet you can't figure out that every time the boss does a room wide AoE, these platforms light up, and they probably have a purpose? I understand that people need to be nicer in general but your example of quite possibly the easiest fight in the game was a bad one.
God help you if you ever make it to Titan.

Already beat Titan, thank you very much. ^.^ It's not about figuring it out, the point is I will always figure it out, but someone only gives me one chance, the first time. Maybe I'll start writing the names down of these people who find everything so "easy", and if I ever run into them in Duty Finder, and you happen to do a mistake in dodging some "easy mechanic" and die..well then, all hell shall break loose. :) Please look forward to it! *wink*

I highly recommend people try to befriend as many others as they can. It makes the grouping activities exponentially better, AND you don't need to worry about the DF queue (much). Plus, if you like to go in blind, it's a fun learning experience... usually. Before you know it, you (anyone) might find yourself leveling a role that you would never have bothered to do for random DF and, most importantly, having fun doing it.
It's honestly so much better, that it's probably best that people forget that DF actually finds random people for you.

Hi. everyone nice to meet! I just want to say Eorzea is an awesome world! I used common sense yesterday at a FATE battle when i knew my party partner were too low at Lvl. but we made it through thanks to her, a disciple of magic that came quickly and casted rise to this fellow fallen thaumaturge.
