Be nice.. please.. or just use common sense.

If you join a duty, and you see that whole "One or more members are new"-text, or whatever it says, and if you have done the dungeon many times, know it like the back of your hand and really want to win, please for the love of *BEEP* EXPLAIN the boss strategies before entering.

So apparently I'm the dumb one for now knowing this boss does sometimes circle and sometimes conal AoE's while also roaring and inflicting Doom that kills you unless you run to a shining platform which by the way, keeps swapping all the time, specially right after Doom is inflicted, while by the way having to DPS down Bee adds as fast as possible because otherwise they do a move which most likely kills you.

I've been told "this is basic MMO knowledge" and have tanks and healers ragequit. Oh really? Well no MMO I ever played before ever had this. In fact, the last MMO I played had LVL1 bees right outside of the newbie zones. Easiest things to kill in the entire game. Heck, what if I have never played an MMO before? I fail to remember when I checked the "Yes, I have played another MMO before"-box while signing up to FFXIV.

And you quit after dying once? I just found out the strategy! Usually the next time I try it, then I beat the boss. Surprise!

Lastly...whyyyyyyy on earth does anyone quit on the very final boss of a dungeon if there is enough time left on the clock to have a chance to beat it. Just makes my mind melt. HEY, we did all this work, and well now let's just give up because yolo.

Sadly, a lot of people run sunken temple for their grand company logs. It's unfair to the people who are actually running it for the first time, but currently using duty finder for an "Authentic" experience really is like playing the lottery. This is why joining an FC is pretty much the only way to go if you don't want to be aggravated time and again.

It's not "this is basic MMO knowledge". When I see a message that someone is new for a dungeon I explain key things in the fight to prevent wipes. I also look up strategy before entering the dungeon for first time, I feel it's my responsibility as a tank.

To add to your timing statement. That is IF you beat it the second time. My first run didn't beat it until the 45 min. mark. We figured we would have finished but we ended up failing due to running out of time.

Good thing I didn't unlock Haukke Manor and the rest yet, I guess I'll have to see those kinds of bad apples on the DF sooner or later. :/ Sorry you got such bad experience OP. As a healer in my group, don't be overly stupid else, no more heals. If you aren't new and people doesn't know some boss fights, pay it forward and explain them!

Luckily, I have 3 brothers whom one of my brother and I are both healers and another is a tank. We are lucky to run the dungeons with the right combo since my class is arcanist. I do use the DF many times and so far, since I have remade my character after getting to level 40 on 2 classes, that I go in and explain the fights.

What do you know!?! We dont wipe. I cannot believe that if you spend 2 mins to explain the fight that it saves wiping 5mins into the fight. I rather spend that 2 mins to explain then 5+mins to wipe and run back. And it seems to make the fights easier to heal since I am the healer.

I wish that I could heal for you guys. I feel sorry to hear this and it is why I left WoW and did no bother with Aion and SWOTR. I had played v1.0 and thought that we wouldnt have the problem, but then the game got to be so popular at the moment.

Trust me, the nice people who would actually take time to explain the dungeon are really out there. I'm one of those people. I even taught a tank how (s)he could mark mobs, which skills (s)he could use to generate more enmity and how certain boss battles work in the first 3 dungeons (and i'm not even a tank myself).

I would ask the rest of the party to let the tank mark the mobs and have him/her get the first strike, so that (s)he could get a feel for it.

I would either join these groups as white mage or black mage, so that I had control over the battle with cures or sleep.

I believe it comes with the territory when you know the dungeon by heart and wish to assist in helping the community get better. But, every community has some "bad apples", this is something we cannot avoid. However, we can assist those who genuinely seek help and wish to improve themselves.

I like to explain things as I sometimes run into other players who don't exlpain either. In Halatali one of the bosses electrifies the water and anyone in it takes damage. My first run our entire group was new and needless to say it was a short lived fight. Then next time I ran (bored lvl 50 bard) I let the party know.

It's gotten quite out of hand recently with such a huge influx of new players, all we can really do at this point is spread the love and hope for the best. <3

If I'm new to a dungeon, I'll pipe up right away and tell people, "Ooh, never been here before! You point, I kill!" As far as explaining boss fights, I try to be humorous. It eases people's nerves and makes the group more fun. Apart from any specialty strat, like the lanterns in Haukke Manor, I give you dungeons 101:

    1) Get out of stupid. This includes anything bad dropped on the ground.
    2) Hug his butt. Try to stay behind the boss, away from cleaves, breath, whatever.
    3) Kill his friends. Pretty straight forward.
    4) Run like hell. He's doing some AOE thing. See 1).
    5) Kite his ass. Drag the boss around in a circle, he can't stay in one spot.
