The Garlean guy says "The stench of Shadow lingers still", I always thought he meant something by it but now things are starting to make sense maybe. When the airship crashes in the opening CG cutscene the Primals are released maybe they are the Shadows he is mentioning. I know we see Ifirit and work with them sort of but I have always had this suspicion that they are actually the bad guys not the Garleans. Don't get me wrong Garleans have done bad things but we don't know why they do what they do. We do know that they don't like the beast tribes however. Maybe they are doing it out of desperation to save their people.

Adding some more fuel to the fire here, but i'm not sure if this NPC's dialogue was changed after 1.17 patch, or just recently
But Blandhem guarding the gates of camp black brush is saying "Blandhem: An Ul'dahn ferry was sunk by a Garlean airship just off the peninsula to the southwest. We've bolstered the watch here at Camp Black Brush."

According to eorzeapedia it used to be: "Nothing out of the ordinary here. Be kind enough to report anything queer you might see."

Like I said, maybe this was changed post 1.17 patch and nothing too recent....but hey you never know.

I noticed a lot of NPCs saying different things since the patch, even in obscure places like Quarrymill. I thought that maybe it was just my imagination but now I guess it wasn't. Maybe they have hidden easter eggs hinting at this event in random corners of the world.

I wanna see it too :(

Hey Mack... what is interesting are these Deaspected Crystals that are dropping. What can they be for? They are for sale in the wards now so they are not Rare/ex. Someone said one Npc refers to ferry's having mobs >.>. What is happening???
