God I hope so. Alexander being my favorite Summon in FF, and Alexander vs. Odin being my favorite storyline from FFXI. . . seeing it again would just be awesome.

Just gonna leave this here...avert your eyes if you don't want Coil spoilers!
http://xivdb.com/?quest/66695/Primal-Awakening - Entire quest dialog is here. xivdb also has the dialog for Alisae's Pledge.
I personally haven't traversed into Coil yet so I'm not familiar with the story that's going on there, but it seems as if Bahamut's body parts have been "severed".
I can only assume that Odin was the only force strong enough to have accomplished this. From the quest text provided it still sounds like it's a large unknown as to this all came to be.
I think we're going to eventually see more story revolving around who Odin actually is and what actually happened at Carteneau when everything faded to white.
It's definitely not Nael van Darnus either :P
Odin the Lalafell standing above the victims who no longer have knees.

And we may be getting one step closer to a full answer:

Well, if it does indeed become a DF-able trial, Lyland will at last have the chance to avenge Wiyu as the keeper of her legacy. :D
And heres one of the rewards:

I wonder if Louisoix was the Allagan Hero who slew Odin and trapped him in the crystal, which sounds a lot like what happened to Bahamut, and we know Louisoix bound Bahamut in The Coil 5 years ago. As of right now we are dealing with the Allagan on two fronts; The Binding Coil and Crystal Tower, both of which Louisoix's grand children are taking a huge lead in confronting. I think that this is a little more than coincidence and they are heading up the Allagan fronts because they are, in fact, Allagan. Louisoix might actually be a clone of himself like Doga and Unei or may have been frozen in time like Xande, all of who are current living Allegan.
That's literally impossible, given that Odin was trapped eons ago in a bygone era.
While it's not completely clear if she was the one who specifically trapped Odin, the summoner Wiyu is said to be among the group of heroes who fought the Dark Divinity, and she gave her life to save her companions during the battle.
This was revealed by Gerolt in the quest line for the summoner relic, the Veil of Wiyu.
Quote:
Gerolt: Did I hear ye rightly? Yer sayin' that you revived the long lost Allagan art o' summonin'? Bloody hells, I'd always thought 'twas naught but a myth... If it's as ye say, the tales I heard growin' up might well have some truth to 'em. In particular, the one about the maiden Wiyu springs to mind. 'Twas the most detailed among 'em, ye see. She was a right ravishin' lass, this Wiyu, with bright green eyes an' a fiery spirit to match. Alas, she goes on to meet a premature end. Accordin' to the tale, she an' her comrades square off against Odin, the Dark Divinity. When the battle takes an ill turn, she sacrifices herself to save her party. Right tragic, I know.
Most people seem to assume that it was Urth, but if I remember correctly, there is nothing in the information we've been given so far that definitively confirms it was Urth who actually sealed the Dark Divinity.
Full text of the dialogue from the quest chain can be found here.
A summary of events was provided by the thread starter:
We also know that Odin says, "Urth--one day, I will find thee", if you fail to defeat him during his FATE appearances in the Shroud.
And if you do defeat him, he says, rather ominously: "Thou knowest not thy folly. Forfeit is thy walking soul..."
In short, we seem to know only that Odin is searching for Urth, whom he reportedly killed, but we don't know why for sure.
According to O-App-Pesi, Odin slew Urth, along with "multitudes of her people".
The great Allag hero who battled Odin came along only later, as O-App-Pesi said: "At long a great hero of Allag did arise to do battle with the dark god. Odin was slain, and his spirit sealed within a forest spring."
