1-2 hours a day is already enough to exhaust the content of this game in 15% of the patch cycle lmao

Honestly I feel SE could always experiment with new mechanics/duties gosh even a new dungeon formula; I mean Arena Net did Living world and that worked for a time but they found that they could not produce new maps and content at a fast enough pace so they are trying FFXIV route now that did not 100% work for the previous expac so they are trying new things now.
They did not sacrifice story but they did for instance in the newest patch releasing next week at player housing and removed map meta events replacing it to the original world boss to test, I feel SE pushed the envelope already with the story here if they added more dungeon's or trials or even a new type of duty like solo duty or something it would have had a much more positive impact as usually new features are praised.
Problem with that is also kind of rooted in the fact that overall player count is looked at f2p and sub.
there are people that did not purchase dawntrail and is probably still finishing EW; then there are also new players still doing the other expacs as they started recently due to someone making a hype about the game.
the true figures I believe will be seen in only like 2-3 months once the dust has settled and the players from EW influx is no longer visible; Dawntrail is with all due resepct the lowest ranked expac of all of them and that includes SB
Looking at the Metacritic User scores for all the Online Final Fantasy we have:
FFXI = 7.4; FFXIV: 1.0 - 4.0; ARR - 7.7; HW - 8.7; SB - 8.9; ShB - 9.1; EW - 8.7 and DT - 6.0
The fact that DT reviews worse than ARR and Final Fantasy 11 (that is 20 years old) is shocking and show to me this was not a successful expansion by a long shot and SE will probably look at that as well.
Feels more like Cataclysm, or that's the general vibe I get. It's not a colossal train wreck but it could be the start of a decline.
I sincerely hope not!
Sticking so close to the formula is beginning to wear me down a bit. Every expac, you get 6 zones to farm the exact same number of fates for the same number of gemstones to buy the same amount of crafting mats to make the same number of crafts (from the same layout of new master craft tomes), the same type of boss fates that will net you the same amount of special material that you’ll have to do twice for a mount and special outfit, the same type of hunt rewards and legendary nodes and two classes being released, two big cities with one having a MB and one with end expac turn ins, artifact gear and two new materia types…two new types of scrips and two new tomestones…three beast tribes— oh sorry, allied societies, the same number of totems needed for the same number of extreme mounts to collect for a ~special~ mount, an eventual housing district with the same number of plots…
I don’t love knowing exactly what will be in new content before it’s released. It makes it all feel pointless. I’ve done it several times, why keep going?
If we get the Field Mission by 7.15 (they're usually dropped in the .x.5 ones), then that means around 4 months of wait for 7.1 then around 2 more months for the 7.15... six months of waiting to get a feature that gives you things to do (that isn't High End) on the long term. That feels way too long of a wait for me.
Tackling old content shouldn't be a way to make up for that wait, really. At least that's not what I expect from a game that charges a monthly sub in such a big company.
The formula is part of the problem, I can sit down and plan out all the content for the next 9 years on a calendar and know when expansions, patches, etc all land. I can also guess with a high degree of reliability what the dungeons, trials, and raids will be like.
It’s sad when we know that a dungeon will be: 2 packs of trash, boss, two packs of trash, boss, two packs of trash, done. 15 min or less with humans or 20ish with trusts.
god i so hate postings like this. So this Person is telling you what exactly the problem is. You opinion may be diffrent thats fine. But for the love of god stop being like that, not every critique is doom posting. Posts like this make me so aggressive, that stand is the reason why nothing will ever change. Besides the minority is not correct. since DT the community is more then split because surprise DT was not a good expansion for a lot of people. So what shall they do, shut it and swallow it down ? Lets say you are in a restaurant and you order a vegan dish but you are getting meat will you accept it instead of well communicate what is wrong ? People been unsatisfied since Endwalker .X patches for a reason and not because they want to be doomposter. People want to communicate what is bad in their eyes, you are welcome to discuss it but if stop doomposting is your most productive comment, then consider to not post it since you are limited on how mch you can post in the forum anyway and a comment like this helps nobody.
