In some cases, it will mean an easier match, in some cases a more difficult match, however this is a very selfish way excuse to put in no effort. No one would accept that in PvE, if someone didn't like a specific dungeon, a player just sat on their virtual butt and announced "carry me, I don't like this dungeon, but I want the rewards". They'd be kicked. it's not mandatory content, if someone doesn't like it, they're expected to put in the effort.

I'm not sure, those numbers aren't impossible.

I have been in FL where my team is absolutely wrecked by the other two that have the better co-ordination and DRK/DRG/AST comps. Like we're still at 0 and the other two are half way to victory type of thing. Very litte in damage/assists because we're being completely trounced.
(And it's not like we're not attacking as a group, just not working versus what the other team has)

I've also been on the other end where we just wreck a specific team, killing them over and over. Not because they're not trying, but we have the better comp/coord. So our assists/dmg reflects this.

I laugh thinking about it, but first trying Ninja, I got those kind of deaths, haha. I kept over-extending and had no clue what I was doing. My survival was better as a Monk, but I suspect by then I was better at not overextending myself.

The 3 team setup does allow for some very wild swings in performance.

That said, I'll try and pay attention to the next time there's a team being completely murdered. It'll be interesting to see the numbers.

That's what happens when players decide to pick on the team with the lowest score in order to secure a win. Again, a legit strategy to make sure that they aren't the ones screwed over. After all, if it isn't about farming for xp it about making sure that you don't place last. Definitely not sure that a MMR system will help in a casual mode.

You act like there's a defense for non tank jobs who get jumped on out of nowhere by 5+ players and stunlocked out of existence.

A high death count in the current system is not a sign of feeding, its a sign that you got pulled into the Dark Knight pull and 1 shot, or taken by surprise by any other job with a 1 shot.

Job balance is the issue here and they wont fix that as they dont balance around frontlines but CC.
Some players are also just better than others.
I main DNC, i can face another DNC and not see their HP move while they are making mine drop like a rock doing the exact same rotation.
Pretty much i wouldn't put much faith in KDA's in frontlines, especially if the other player has managed to leech up the ranks.
Im not sure how many people know this, but the silver, green, orange icons next to a players name? That increases your damage delt and reduces damage taken, facing an orange player if your silver or have no icon is suicide, there is no balance and no skill.
Just people playing a faceroll and win job vs those who know how to assist and stay away from ambushes vs everyone else.

I understand by "casual" you mean non-ranked, but using the broader meaning, FL is played so casually by some they are reluctant to press their buttons, and so competitively by others that they get on voice chat and use meta stacks in light parties. In the absence of queue separation, an MMR simply puts those watching Netflix in tier 3, the sweaty tryhards in tier 1, and the bulk of serious players in tier 2.

I'm sure many of you will be familiar with the military principle of Boucles d'or which I believe can be applied to the current situation, even if you are not overfond of porridge.

I've seen people use premades as an excuse more than I've seen actual premades. Almost as if they have the premade excuse macroed to press anytime they get called out on for dying repeatedly, followed with a macro for "It's just frontlines" or "I'm only here for the exp".

Even if a premade happened to be in that match, after the 4th, maybe 5th death they should start adjusting their gameplay or start playing it safe. Pushing double digits in deaths, it is no longer a premade issue, its a player issue.

Some of the people in the picture were a part of a team that swept the match, but the scores ended up being close because 3-4 individuals decided they were going to be the ones to throw away 200-300 points.

Every day I am sure I have several "premades" in my team. The main issue is, they are all premades of people who are generally uninterested in actually playing PvP. The reason the PvP premades have such a big impact, is because generally there are only maybe 2-5 people (at BEST) on a team that actually want to play PvP and make an effort. Of course, a group of 4, or queue syncers of 8, make such a big impact. But that is not on the premades, but on the large amount of players who not only have an absolute laughable skill level despite hundreds of games, but don't even have a base attitude of being there. And it doesn't help that you often can't even kick them, either because they are in another group, or they are protected by their FC mates whom they queued with, or the generally enabler community that quite frankly plagues this game. It's one thing to have feeders and afkers, it's another that the community by and large enables this behavior in the first place.

What the game needs is a PvP ban. People who utter any sentence that diminishes other people's effort of a win (the typical "it's just a game", "touch grass", "let's just lose"), or who feed / afk, need to get PvP strikes and be subsequently disabled from queueing from PvP activities for a time. And with each strike, this length increases, until they are banned either completely or till the next expansion.

I would not even be questioning this at all only if this was used in a smaller setting like the 8v8v8 that was snatched away. Right now you're lucky if you can even get 2 games going at once. Doesn't help that there are chances that you can join an uncompleted game (depending on settings). Also, how would you rate those that only chooses to regularly play once a day? There's not exactly much information you can go off on about playstyle and other things...

1.) You would have to rework how penalties operate. If you get banned from PvP you can't do majority, if not all things PvE instanced.

2.) The community needs to be behind it. As it stands, some are okay with AFKing. Imagine if the hackers decide to return, and the same attitude towards AFKers are applied.
