Ever since there's been ways to share cosmetic mods it kind of has, but that's a completely different topic and not really relevant to this one.

Bluntly honest because you need the reality dose: as hard as the team works to make things as fair between pc and PlayStation from a vanilla standpoint, pc will always have the advantage due to the potential of addons.
So yes, pc has the advantage. No, life isn’t fair, that’s the reality of it.
Well, in the same post, he also acknowleges the part of the community that is tackling the content without using such egregious tools. "[...] please know that the Development and Operations teams take notice of all your passion", he said. So I don't believe we have anything to worry about when it comes to the future of Ultimates.
Which is not to say there won't be consequences. People should know better at this point. I think we can all agree that Square Enix doesn't handle this subject in the best way possible, but their stance is very clear.
They already confessed stop talking about it. I hope they stop acknowlegde World First anymore. It isn't good for this kind of drama. They should not announcement anything like this in the future. They feed community too much about world first. I don't think this kind of official announcement gonna make this game better.
People become greedy and want senpai to notice them but yeah this is second time now. Second time from staffs to not stop 3rd party. In DRS, it was totally bad. I still remember RDM clip on youtube and he used every mods in this game to win DRS. This time is same but problems aren't only people who uses 3rd party. It is from lack of anti cheat system. They don't do anything about game launcher and system. It's literally their faults too. Lack of protecting.
Like unwanted child gonna birth because you forget to put condom. Same as unwanted 3rd party gonna birth because you don't put protection.
His stance has never changed. He's always been against third party tools yet has allowed them to exist within a grey area. They are still prohibited and can lead to temporary or perma-bans if mentioned in game. That has and always been the rule. Nothing has changed.
That doesn't mean plugins or ACT are going anywhere nor does it mean Square Enix will implement some sort of DRM to detect them. Therefore, they have no way of knowing whether you have any installed unless you make it blatantly obvious. Everything will continue exactly as it did before.
Mare doesn't affect your gameplay though. Sure, you may want those mods but nothing about your gameplay changes whether you can see someone else wearing a modded outfit or not.
Too bad that direction went so far to the extreme with having the dev team RELY on plugins to even program and create those raids when that shit should be completeable out of the box in the game. Why design something that requires you to download something outside of itself in order to do it? Its complete and total bs and the dev team over there does nothing about it, nor cares to implement those plugins into their base game.
This is why addon usage in an MMO space is either take it or leave it, it cant have a middle-ground. Its honestly sad how desperate Yoshida wants to find this middle-ground where you honestly just cant ever feasibly do. It why we have such drama like this EVERY. DAMN. SINGLE. RAID.
It does. It's a complicated topic, and even if I hash everything out you likely won't acknowledge it but... the easiest way to sum it up is that it's an issue with inclusivity and the general community.
It doesn't affect your gameplay overall, especially not in the sense of any combat but it does impact the gameplay.
But again, it's not really relevant to the topic of world firsts.
