Any disparities between old and new players will even out over time. I for one will spend some of my time helping out the new players where I can.
The current Gil system works fine for me. For those who are walking around all moneybags at the outset... there will be a LOT of new gear and other new things to spend money on. Not to mention plenty of entertaining and routine gil sinks to pour it into.
Having Gil is part of the perks of playing now. If you gonna cry over it @2.o then you should have got the game already... 2.0 i like a huge expansion, I get there is gui and graphically updates but this IS FFXIV if the game became FFXV then by al means gil reset but WE ARE playing the game NOW. and ITS the SAME game then just new story and enhancements... You people need to really quit crying about gil, GO EARN IT, wasting time posting here is time lost you could have made some. Get it through your heads 2.0 is not a NEW game. We are playing FFXIV now, which means everyone else could be playing now and over a year + already if they wanted to so bad.
i.e. Its like saying in FFXI every couple years and expansion they should reset the gil because all the noobs are gonna be starting off and have their feelings hurt. Go cry me a river....
p.s. You don't fix what is NOT broken, Gil IS the currency in Final Fantasy.
That is all.
this would work if it was a whole other systems like guild marks other wise a waste.
How about a fame system like XI? (Though not requiring quite as many cabbage trades)
The higher your fame in a particular city, the better your discounts on NPC goods, Airship travel and Market Ward Tax is?
Gil is the standard currency in every FF game. There's no reason to change this. It's one of the things that anchors the game to the FF universe.
The only true way to do this is to let new players create max level characters with a selection of generally available gear of the time. But nobody that leveled their characters the old fashioned way is going to be happy about that.Quote:
