I agree. I love to unsync and just rip them to shreds either on my Monk or my WAR. It's great to let out some aggression with violence. It's like beating up a stuffed animal when angry.

I feel that. I noped out in MoP when I logged in one day to do my faction grinding and realized I would rather do anything else. And I couldn't miss a day because even then the commitment required was high.
We have things like the weeklies here and dailies with beast tribes or Hunts, but I don't feel heavily punished if I miss those sometimes. I can catch up. I can rush to get what I want quickly or I can take my time and meander through the process. It's very easy to have fun because you're given a lot more agency in what you feel like doing that play session.
The MSQ and the music. Both second to none!
1) Actual #1 reason: an honest to goodness, triple A quality mmorpg on console that I can 100% play and enjoy with a controller. I hate playing games on pc, I hate mouse and keyboard, it hurts my hands to use those and I find them actively confusing to use. Console gaming is what I love, and on top of that, its an accessibility aspect for me. I would never be able to play the game to this degree on a pc.
2) Someone else mentioned this, and I felt it was true for me as well. It’s a Final Fantasy game where I get to make my own character. There’s lots of things I like aesthetically about FF games, but the main character is almost always a guy. In this game not only do I get to play as my own gender, but I get to make my own character, something that can actually resonate with me. And that’s pretty darn cool.
3) Getting to play every class on one character is something I personally love. Not having to do the whole story and unlock all the content all over again like 10 times just to play every class is fantastic.
4) Although I’m one of those people who wishes healers had more dps buttons, at the end of the day, I clearly still enjoy the gameplay, or else I wouldn’t be playing anymore.
5) Even though I’ll never defend this game’s obsession with filler, from Shadowbringers onward, I’ve become much more interested in the story (Although I did like Heavensward). That’s something I’ve only ever had with one other mmo before.
6) Consistant content updates. Having the peace of mind that this game I’ve invested so much time and money into isn’t going anywhere is important to me.
7) The last thing I can think of at the moment is that it’s a mmo with a rich lore and world building that doesn’t feel generic in the slightest. There’s not many other mmos out there that pull that off. There’s a lot to get into if you want, and I really enjoy being in a game setting that has this much depth.
I like how much side stuff there is to do asides from just combat. I could spend hours fishing or racing. Also love how much activity there is, the main cities feel like actual places because there are always people chatting or goofing off instead of just hubs that only exist for you to get your next quest.
1- The "fan service" they provide with contents such as easter eggs from Final Fantasy games;
2- the really well made Final Fantasy high quality story;
3- The community, in general. The majority of you guys rocks! :)
4- The way the devs conducts the game. Although, we have some issues because they use an old engine full of limitations that annoys us. But inside these limits, they make the best of what they get.
5- The musics (not all of them, but some fits perfectly for fights and places and for moments in the story).
6- The details on NPCs dialogues. I like to press to talk to them if they are not the quest giver. Some tells very nice stuff lorewise!
Well, this is all that I can remember :)
Mine is going to be a bit different than most. I like that it's predictable, but not 100%. For some people it might be stale, but I like that I know what to expect and when. I like that my character is going to be a huge focal point. I like that I know I don't have to spend 30 hours a week doing things I hate to keep up in progression. I like that my gear doesn't determine my capabilities and that I don't need some perfect gear that has a thousand effects that only one person can obtain a week.
Basically I like FFXIV because it isn't FFXI. I feel like my time is being respected, and as I get more busy, that means more and more.
I enjoy being able to fully immerse myself into an MMORPG without being constantly dragged out by my gameplay requiring an analysis of my irl finances to progress.
If I need to spend time to figure out how to progress optimally that's part of the fun. If the thing I'm optimizing is my paycheck, then I'd rather play a real economy.
I love the story (so far), I do love the voice line things alongside the music (this really makes it feel like a living story to me) I do like that I can treasure hunt in the future ( I haven't done it yet) because it seems very pirate thing to do.
I can't speak on other things as I'm not all that far yet.
One thing I dislike is the lack of a classic pirate like job. I'm seeing no pirate ship mount (sad). I hope and pray I will see those in the future to get my entire theme down.
Oh I also loving gambling in the golden saucer.
