The dumb hunched stance doesn't help either. Literally no one asked for them to be like that.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised. I was hesitant of posting this thread and refrained from checking up on it because I thought it would be full of people who were outraged by it. Even to those who don't play either Viera or Hrothgar, voicing your opinion on the matter is really helpful. Also, props to bringing up the achievement hats we can't wear, I didn't even think of that but it's a very good point.
I'm sorry I didn't bring this up, I did get tunnel vision when ranting about the Viera (Happens a lot). I hope the Hrothgar receive this much needed change in 6.1!
Completely forgot about Yoshi saying this, thank you for reminding me. I hope he keeps to his word and doesn't create anymore unnecessary races. But we still have female Hrothgar to go so I can only hope the current races situation gets fixed before SE start working on female Hrothgar.
As someone said previously on this forum, if we get race-exclusive hairstyles the developers would have more freedom to include more with diadems & viera-themed accessories, which would make a significant difference to our outfits so it would give us more of a variety. Who knows, maybe they could bring in a hairstyle for Viera that has a RDM-esque hat fixed on it? The list of possibilities are endless in what we could receive in compensation for lack of headgear. I do understand why race-lock wouldn't appeal to most people, but as said in my OG post, SE originally created Hrothgar and Viera to be race locked and have a distinctive identity... Whether or not SE continue to plan on doing so, no one really knows, time will tell.
Wheres hrothgar mommies.
Now, thats what he said, buuut he may go back on it if he finds a race interesting enough to add or if there is enough of a community outcry for a new race. Lupin's are a possibility, I know people wanted the Ivalician moogles as a playable race, I know some people want the lopporites as a playable race, I *really* want the original concept for Au Ra to be a playable race. The males looked more like dragons and the females looked more like demons...aaaa I can't get over how good that looked
Also, please SE. Get rid of the hunch...I know thats a common trope in MMOs to show that the more beast time races are "savage" and "tribal" but I think the only other race in the game with a hunch are the ixials...but they stand more straight than Hrothgar do. The Amal'jaa dont hunch, neither do the lupins, or the namazu, or the....turtles (it would be silly if they did since they still have a shell >->), the moogles def dont hunch (but they're too small to hunch). Literally no other beast tribe hunches, so why do Hroth's have to hunch. Them walking/ running makes my neck hurt
Inb4 Fem hroths dont hunch over compared to their male counterparts....I will be so disappointed at the weird sexual dimorphism trait of the hunch
There are tons of helmets in this game that work on Hrothgar, but don't work on viera. Just let the helmets work and players can assume their bunnies ears are cramped into the helmet. As for certain hats, yes some may never work but others can easily work (bandanas and helms for example) and just have the ears poking out. The new Reaper AF gear is a perfect example of a hat working with the ears poking out just fine as well as previous hoods that show on viera.
I think one of the main issues with showing headgear are the viera hairstyles clipping with the hat equipped. I think the easiest solution is to just "crop" the hair out and display the headgear with the ears clipping through.
I know these hairstyles are kinda not 100% great examples for Viera
But Tactics had some great designs regardless
I would like to see more viera specific hairstyles (as well as reward & mog station hairs)
but for the best result I think we should band together & ask for Viera specific hairstyles
I don't mind clipping, I don't wear clothes that clip
I play a miqo so don't mind my tail even if it does clip
Long hair please
