I guess, he means that many solo fights are complicated to create because they have some phases. And you lose them still because after X minutes or when the enemy health is below Y% you get hit by an unavoidable AoE attack und this attack kills you instant. And there are some fight espacially in Stormblood where it will happen.

Forced losses always suck tbh, but I feel like it's better this way than winning the fight only for a cutscene loss to happen.
