I'm sorry... but... the players did nothing. You participated in a grind that was ultimately meaningless. The Ishgarde housing would be added either way.
This is not a sandbox - you didn't build anything.

Dungeon and deep dungeons removal was confirmed before covid along with hildibrand. Dnc and Gnb had no weapons even before covid. Trials had no voice acting even before covid, same as alli raid. Please stop overrusing covid as an excuse for everything. Yoshi p even said they were working at 90% efficiency and raised that to 95% after some time, while also taking months of break to catch up with the content. Its why we had the huge content lull we had, because that was the time they used to catch everything up.
Its literally the truth though. SB added Shirogane and we didnt need to build it and it didnt come at the cost of combat content lol
"Not enough of my favorite flavor of ice cream" isn't the same as "The ice cream shop is doing it wrong."
Sure, there are things XIV needs to fix and could do better - glamours, inventory, housing, PVP - but "add more content that only 10% of the playerbase wants to consume" is not necessarily it.
Because it wasn't content the same way the Ishgardian restoration. It was just a housing district, rather than a rework of a zone and numerous events to tell the story of rebuilding a city. The latter takes more time.
No welcome to games in general. You can distill pretty much all games down in the most basic of ways to make them meaningless.
"Ultimately Meaningless"
I'm so glad we're back to the point of arguments where we're insanely reductive and not the least bit productive or supportive.
Everything in this game is ultimately meaningless. It's a passtime. If you wanting life-affirming payout in your video game you best do some true soul searching cause I have some bad news for you.
Ishgard Restoration provided some much needed motivation and progression content for Crafters and Gatherers. Its system still serves as the best way to level those to this day with items players will want regardless of level. Whether or not you approve of the content is irrelvant - it worked. Its story was that yes, those who did participate DID build Ishgard's Housing district. It doesn't matter if the situation was a fiction - the fact that they built content around that concept meant people had something to do while waiting that made their participation feel good.
You're trying to make the exact same argument for raiding, and yet join in insulting an entire playstyle for having what you want? Yeah that doesn't speak jealousy much.
I am not sure where you saw Yoshi-P saying they will streamline dungeons...
And streamlining dungeons just makes sense considering people will always try to find the fastest way out...
Yes sure the overworld needs something. I keep seeing people saying that and that's true. But...what exactly? What would make it so that people would keep coming to the zones in the long run?...
A new super-fate and new hunts every few patch would be nice I guess...
Keeping people engaged is difficult...
He said it at the recent fanfest. At this point it seems like he wants dungeons to be a movie than actual combat content. It doesn’t make much sense as people have been very against that type of streamlining for awhile now because it’s very prevalent in ShB. Just look at the post patch dungeons and how fast mobs melt and how basic the mechanics are. Make quests more engaging, with better rewards other than exp and small sum of gil. Make the fate system even more complex, have it add changes to each zone whether visually or what. Make hunts a more active thing and have them have a cycle where they add new fun ones that have actual mechanics. Small things like that would go a long way. Maybe even have overworld dungeons that you can do with more people, similar to maps but on the actual overworld.
