1.22 - 1.22a - 1.22b changes

Well, all I'm saying is paladin is subpar. Argue whatever stance you'd like, be it mitigation or dps or hit points or enmity or self heals, paladin is just not as effective. For anyone to say it is as effective, or more, you're lying to yourself.

Sure Doctor Mog can put videos up of whatever to prove it can be done, it's still a lot easier to do with a warrior though.

I think it is okay for physical damage only, gives Paladin that unique mitigation. 50% mitigation is fine, but honestly I would not stack sentinel with it. Using sentinel at the right time means we get 50% damage mitigation for 40 seconds as opposed to 80% for 20.
But let's stay on topic, this is about 1.22 changes.

I was tanking princess & marshall together on PLD last night and noticed the damage cut was not 50% when blocking. On several accounts, when taking a weapon skill it reduced from 1100ish to 700ish damage taken. Auto attacks were 900ish damage most and being reduced to 500 or 600ish damage taken.

Not sure what the calculation is on shield blocks but it still seems weird to me.

well keep in mind each attack fluxes between how many hit points it deals by roughly a 10% range soo if the first full attack was 500 , that dosent mean the next attack that you blockes wasn't 550 lol. Meh, to each their own, Increase block amount or not, I am perfictly happy with PLD as is, only thing I realy want to see is an instant cast cure or a materia that dosent take the same slots as def/vit or mind that increases spell cast interupt resist. Perferably instant cast tho. mp is still kinda a issue and running holy succor off of tp would help TONS , just my opinion

No, not because I say it's so. It's because speed CC, speed AV, Garuda, 40,000 point hamlet defense runs, ect ect are all dominated by the tanking class: warrior.

I'm not mad about it. Most everything, including people, generally follow the path of least resistance. I don't blame anyone for going that route. I'm really not even a little upset, but why do people have so much of a problem calling a spade a spade? If it is easier to go warrior it's easier, what's wrong with saying paladin is not up to par with the current warrior class?

Is the community so afraid of the warrior nerf stick they'll play blind to the glaring differences? I dont need to prove a thing to you or anyone else, let the demographics do it. More often than not, these things are done (successfully) with the warrior as tank.

wait, we have proven it can be done on PLD ... , and you said it yourself, I know I have said it a million times, one of the biggest reasons people perfer WAR of PLD is because it is easier to do.... wich is fine with me, if you have no patience or the mental capacity to learn how to play PLD then go with war, I realy dont care, but you can not claim WAR is better simply because the majority is either too lazy or ignorant to learn to do PLD. WAR is a great tank soo long as there is no real risk to the tank as far as taking damage, lucky for WAR there is no real challange to test tanks, proof of that would be videos of tanks in reindeer suits tanking bosses or thms and whms tanking bosses. Dose not sound like a fight I would boast about. Soo in conclusion if you like to tank on WAR then go for it, I realy dont care, But I will always take less damage then you, hold hate well enough to tank anything you can tank and be more capable to remove the need for healers from a party, these , mind friend are all facts. Could I prove it? I'm sure I could but why?, you already said dr mog posted video of it being done and you still refute that. Soo in short , If I post somthing anymore in terms of video or parse It will be somthng worthy of noterity. But GL with tanking on your war, enjoy

haha, I just saw that 40,000 point hamlet defense run part, omfg dont make me laugh, your or anyones war can not contribute anymore then a 50 crafter or gatherer on hamlet ....

I don't think PLD is any harder than WAR lol. It has pretty much the same amount of hate tools, lower dps, and meh cures <_<. WAR is a better tank just for the fact it does good DPS while being able to keep hate off fully decked out Melees/BLMs, at least for me!

the conclusion is aceofspades know how to tank with PLD, while others dont. ok.

The tanking part of PLD is just fine. Most times I've tanked there was no enmity problems, but if you look at the whole picture the total dmg output from the PT is not worth it.
When you got a 6 DPS, WHM, Tank setup its kinda obvious if you wanna stick with the tank who deals 5k dmg or the one that deals 20k.

I even tried tanking Garuda on PLD, its really fine some blocks and self-healing really helps out, but it still just dosnt make up for the loss of 1 DPS. (When compared to WAR who tanks with little to none DPS penalty)

Yes, I said videos have been posted proving it can be done on paladin, the speed runs. I've not seen a video of Garuda with paladin though. Even then I'm sure it can be done, does that make it easier? Of course not. In an era where it takes less than a week to level warrior to 50, I cannot fault anyone for taking a warrior. It's just easier.

You can maybe win, or you can probably win. Even with paladin as my main class... I'd take the 'probably win.'
