Oh and the little Bell..
I think it'd have been a nice way to support smaller streamers, but we know this is more about promoting the streamers with the bigger reaches to promote and market the game leading up to Endwalker.
But I think a nice gesture to follow would be to promote smaller streamers once the Campaign's over and give them some spotlight. Giving them a boost and helping them grow I guess could have potential longer term effects of promoting the game too.
Care to elaborate on that, please?
Not a bit fan of the collaboration either, I mean it's just like buying a recolour, only someone you might like gets your support. I'm definitely not getting it. However, I think, in that case, people would simply mute/afk and not even bother watching the streamer. Maybe this way some of them will stay and watch someone they spent 20 euros/dollars on.
I'd really like to know the reason people who barely play the game got chosen but not a single one of the 10+ streamers that stream raids almost every day for such a long time didn't.
It's really not "the biggest streamers".
MissRogueFlame is on that list, and she's hardly a big streamer. Her viewer count at any time is around 50-100 (so pretty average, and minimum for partners) and she's not exactly making a living wage off of Twitch subs, especially with her health issues and fewer streams because of it. (I see people asking for BIPOC streamers but conveniently dismissing the disabled)
Then there's EthysAsher, a great, no amazing content creator, but also has health issues that means he hasn't been able to stream much for a long time.
(If you're struggling to justify subscribing to one of the collab streamers because you think none of them 'deserve it', but do want to drop the money for the mount, I'd wholeheartedly suggest either of these two, plus Inochifantasy and Hupo)
It's quite clearly the more dedicated FFXIV streamers, rather than "the biggest", but probably limited to Twitch Partners, which require a formal application process and a minimum viewer count.
I don't know any of the streamers but of the few who have stuff on YouTube.
If anything, I'd rather support that streamer who's YT content helped me and those were mostly desperius and weskalber. But guess who aren't on the list...
Because people having the stream on mute in the background atleast means bigger viewer numbers and that means more exposure for XIV, whether or not they actively watch the stream is irrelevant because as long as they have it open in their browser it counts towards the viewer numbers.
Now you most likely have the situation that Curisu mentioned. People who only want the mount and couldn't care less about XIV streaming on twitch pick a streamer from that list, gift their 4 subs and leave again, which is completely useless for SE if their intention was to give their game more exposure because the viewer numbers drop just as fast as they increased.
Mr.Happy got it so it's not all bad. But sad day cause Work2Game didn't make the list. They should've been on it.. it's all they DO. But atleast Happy got on there.. I'd been pissed if they didn't put literally the biggest creator on there. Mr. Happy. Love him or not he literally does XIV content like everyday on Twitch and Youtube with a podcast that's been going for years. :c
Honestly, all these streamers crying over not being chosen is sad. People saying oh I have been growing my channel for x amount of time and I was not chosen etc etc, then complain at other streamers from wow being chosen instead. Ofc they will take some other streamers, to get people who don't normally play the game to see the game! People with bigger audiences again take priority due to more people watching. And those bigger streamers worked just as hard for their audience.
SE is not obligated to boost your stream just because you stream their game. It is not for them to make being a streamer a full time job for you, it's a campaign meant to reach more people and give a boost to some of their content creators which is more than other companies do. They can't just make it open free for all for every ff streamer because who knows what they will say or have said in the past etc and associate with the company. Get over yourselves, you are not entitled to a thing.
