Warrior has gained my admiration over the course of 5.0 expac. Not to much at 5.0 launch, but I really switched to warrior from 5.3. Warrior imo really is the best tank, and I play them all, Paladin is a very close second but I found it boring this expansion. Each tank has it's strengths, but warrior is just SO COMFY to play. It's strong, high burst damage, easy rotation, a sustain that healers love (when I heal warriors I'm way more comfortable).

See what 6.0 offers to the tanks and see what tank I decide to run with. Wait and see

Wait... what are we supposed to be surprised by?
Potency tweaks mid expac to buff the tank with the lowest DPS (war)?
I feel like I'm missing something here.

It's the comparison vs. DRK getting no love the entire expac while adding insult to injury of getting a full redesign. DRK mains may be fairly miffed

People getting knickers in a twist because WAR got some and DRK didn't?

I dunno man, I know it's popular to hate on DRK or whatever but as a DRK main I'm happy.

The enmity buff doesn't make much sense but maybe it was a leveling issue. At any rate, I'm not one to turn down a bone. Thanks SE :)

Okay, I can explain. It's actually really simple. I don't care that WAR got potency buffs, that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme. Also, everyone who isn't insane knew there was never going to be a significant rework after 5.3 with literally nothing being mentioned in live letters or patch notes about DRK, good or bad. DPS does not matter.

The issue that is that anyone, ANYONE, who plays DRK at a somewhat serious level knows Blood Weapon is a completely garbage skill that we have complained about for almost two years. Every other job with a short duration buff has had it's tolerance level increaseed (Delirium/IR/Req), or has had it's requisite requirements moved to on hit, depreciating stacks (Bunshin/New Riddle of Earth).

All anyone has to do, is use AoE combos and realize 5 hits in are impossible at the 2.5 spell GCD, or play with more than 100 ping and see how inconsistent it is. Inconsistent, arbitrary, and entirely within the realms to be fixed, because other jobs have had the exact same thing fixed. It's a QoL fix long overdue. This doesn't even include just DRK either, who asked DRG potency buffs, and NOT Disembowel being extended in AoE?

Putting essentially a bug fix into your "Job Adjustment" patch notes when we have not had a single meaningful change to make the experience less clunky the entire expansion is annoying. I never even realized LS was SUPPOSED to give aggro, because I assumed it, as a pet, just wouldn't generate any, like every other pet, it's not like they can be targeted or meaningfully impact the way I use my opener. To say it another way, it never impacted my gameplay experience a single time because of the insane aggro modifier on tank stances. BW is annoying enough that it impacts my gameplay experience multiple times every pull by existing in it's trash state.

Sadly, the main designer for DRK mitsutoshi gondai is working on project FF16 so DRK will probably not get any love come 6.0 either. Anyhow this buff will probably only lasts the duration till 6.0 where again all jobs will be re-balanced again for better or worse...like early 5.0 rdm can't even get enough mp back...

I dunno man, I just followed some melding guide off the balance to get my SkS right and never had a problem with that.

that plus Bunshin and Perfect Balance being changed to have charges to spend, whereas blood weapon is still "hope you have good latency."

good for you. You still are bound by DRK being a hybrid weaponskill/spell GCD job.
BW is still clunky in AoE situations. You cannot meld enough SkS to mitigate that.
Even ignoring that "but that's not raids, so who cares?" because how many people are uber casual, log in to do roulettes, and not much else? They just get shafted?

It's a much requested, twice paralleled QoL change that's been asked for since 5.0's release (BW is jank please fix), and fully realized with NIN's redesign (Bunshin does it why cant we?), and again wound-salted with MNK's rework (Perfect Balance too now functions like how we want BW to, please??).

At this point it's just tradition. DRK Gets nothing meaningful, then throughout the expac their like dead last to get anything close to a good adjustment, then the next expansion comes and it's almost a whole new job with the changes to it. Taking bets on what 6.0 Delirium will do if it's even still in the job kit.
