And to be honest, I think the Castrum bosses were less brutal than Red Comet.
In no way is Castrum anywhere close to extreme. Simply put, it just requires more co-ordination than your average 24 man raid, and that all. The main problem right now that not enough people are level 10 and dont have access to it. In a few days and in the coming weeks, castrum will be popping up every single hour and it'll be a near guaranteed clear every time. Its not hard.

I got to try castrum yesterday and enjoyed it. I had become very negative about the game this expansion due to the old systems and content structure becoming stale, so this was a breath of fresh air. Had to wait until we were 16 months deep into the expansion but finally got something that feels fresh and sparks curiosity.
The only problem with these large scale raids inside of another instance is there will come a time when there aren't enough players available to run them, since they aren't compatible with a duty roulette system. That's a problem for new players trying to progress through the bozja story in the years ahead.
Anyways thanks to the battle planners who came up with these interesting mechanics and I like how we can get some bozjan coins at a midway point so we earn something even if we don't get a full clear of all the bosses.
The DPS check on Lyon isn't actually that tight if the group going after him is specced for damage with breath of the martialist/aetherweaver/skirmisher, but I've noticed a woeful tendency for lost actions to be ignored entirely judging from how few rezs tend to go out in the average CE (The Resistance Phoenix is an instacast 100% HP rez and you can hold several if your pack isn't too stuffed with costly actions like manaward).
Same experience. No surprise, since most people just do fates and that's about it. In my data center it's even hard to get a full party for farming named monsters with death action.
Anyway, a good option is to make your own party prepared for that DPS check. 1 Tank + 2 healers + 5 DPS. If everyone is using common DPS actions should not be a problem.
No where near close to extreme. More like a hard dungeon. I ran it 4 times, cleared 2 times with pugs and roughly 35ppl. Once it gets to max amount of participants I can see it getting much easier.
I like it because it feels like a actual raid and not just a 1 boss fight and done deal.
Entered Bozja for the 3rd time yesterday, reached level 10 and did Castum for the first time and cleared it xD. IMO it's no harder than doing the NIER raid for the first time xD.
Castrum isn't bad if people actually remember to bring lost actions.
It's nigh-impossible to actually wipe on an encounter with properly prepared players as you can stock several Phoenix Down and/or Arise actions depending on whether you prefer an instant raise with short range or a casted raise with longer range that also removes the weakness debuff.
The biggest potential issue are the DPS checks on the first and third bosses as those are guaranteed to wipe the raid, but again, they're very lenient assuming a good amount of people brought DPS boosting actions and are doing their rotation properly.
