I do not like to be that person, but I cannot help but feel the people that complain about those that under cut are just gil poor because they are lazy.

Of course I value my time. I value everyone else's time though as well. Making it as low as possible while still being reasonable means more people can have access to it. I'm not sitting here caring about how much gil I can grab up, I'm wanting to get items to people who need or want them.
If the items in question are so easy to get that players just want rid of them and that in turn crashes that entire market to the point of no recovery ...the item is worthless. It's literally junk that a ton of people want to get rid of that has low demand.
Sadly, thanks to Enix making gathering and crafting a joke, that applies to the greater majority of items in the game now. They're nearly all worthless.
Part of it is botters though. To botters who don't invest time like a human player does, crashing items to a very low price doesn't matter.
I agree on the latter.
With the current state of crafting/gathering along with the combination of botters, would recommend people try to make serious gil elsewhere.
Overall you make it sound like a bad thing when a market crashes and makes items more readily available. The items still sell, just not for the price you personally wish. I mean in the end if people do not like under cutters then buy out the items and repost them. Sooner or later one will give either due to lack of funds, supply, or demand.
No matter how you cut it people seem upset about undercutting because they cannot sell the item at the rate and value they personally desire. If that is the case control that part of the market.
Value changes based on the individual and the circumstance. There is no set value for time that everyone accepts.
Like time, consumers value products differently. What one person will gladly pay for an item does not indicate what everyone is willing to pay.
Prices only hold as long as the supply will only support those willing to pay that higher price. Once the supply starts exceeding the demand from those buyers, a surplus forms. Sellers don't want to be stuck sitting for weeks on an item because there's a surplus that won't sell and it's preventing them from selling other items. They're going to drop their price trying to attract new buyers.
If there's an untapped demand out there because the old price was higher than many were willing to pay, the price drop will succeed in attracting new buyers. Sellers get rid of their inventory and are able to start selling other items.
I know you've mentioned bots as a reason for prices dropping but you know what's been even more disastrous in many of the game's markets?
The desynthesis changes and quick ventures.
Or they're trying to play the game as a wealth accumulation simulator so want to make as much gil as they can from what they sell, not less.
That's fine but I've noticed that people who don't value their time as part of their pricing also tend not to have much gil.
I think you're misunderstanding. Prices dropping over time is normal. My observation is for people who undercut on items which are consistently selling at a certain price daily, multiple times. When doing so, does not significantly increase demand.Quote:

It's a combination of many factors. Here are some:Quote:
