I'm glad I'm on PS4... we can't click links in chat. I also know better then to trust random links from people I do not know. I'm way too old to fall for that. The net is a scary place tho. Hopefully you can get things fixed OP :c

It cannot be emphasised enough, when somebody sends you a link and it requires posting ANY personal information, check the URL. Phishing scammers will try to make stuff look as legit as possible, but the one thing that cannot 100% make look legit? The URL. But they can get damn close.
Whilst i realise too late for the OP, I hope it serves as an example for people to learn caution.
I have had the URL too, and at first glance it looks legit, then it took me to a legit looking login page, I double checked the URL and reported the account that sent me the URL.
Yup. And people on PC can access the Lodestone from the launcher and the Mog Station and the forums from the Lodestone. There is never a need to copy links from anywhere. Streams and other events are also announced in game as a system message, not a /tell.
The link will actually take you to a real forum post if you remove the "-st.xyz" in the middle, because the format is otherwise correct. It's quite clever.
It seems like some people are getting their accounts back after they were compromised, though I still feel like they should be doing something to raise awareness of the scam.
I got a private message as well today on Zodiark. Got a few different ones actually these last few months. I've been playing since 2.0 and I never used to get these before.
Saying something about don't let FF14 do this in these sensitive times, with a link attached.
I'm on PS4 so i can't even use the link :P
Reported and blocked :D
General rule of thumb, don't go to linked websites from strangers.
If you do, for the love of god don't enter any personal information and as another poster stated, always check the URL.
I just got one of these messages ingame aswell, got like 3 at 2:30 in the morning, mostly just ignored the link they gave.
Ah yes I think we talked about this the other day ingame. At least I think that was you! :o
Yeah that's the first time I've heard of this happening. Usually they have absolutely no interest in such things they just move on to the next account that falls for it.
Yeah that's the thing, they throw out bait to as many people as they can. They only need a few bites. It's like how scams for real money in the real world work. Of course you know you're not the next of kin to the Nigerian prince, but someone somewhere might think they are.
