That... would be very sneaky and shrewd of the dev team. And would mean that they're very much in-touch with the fanbase. At least enough to weaponize an expected reaction to "force" the higher ups into letting up.

Agreed, however, that they could have handled the reveals much better. But the interview in general gives a lot of hope (for stuff besides the gender-locks, hoping WHM gets some of its identity back or a new one altogether, and AST solidifies itself into a niche of its own instead of being WHM with buffs).

They wouldn't share a body model, each would have their own body 'morph' as it were, this morph tells the gear mesh how to shape itself to appear as if your Avatar is wearing it, how to conform to the shape of their body as clothes and the like would naturally do! And so they could share gear models instead!

If they were to try to use a less thicc race as the base the gear would looked stretched out and weird and so they could use the gear made for roes as their body types would be much more compatible!

If I can find the render comparison again, I think you'll be pleasantly pleased. The Hroth seem to actually have their own form - smaller arms, longer legs, and their chest/hip is more of an inverted triangle as opposed to a bulky rectangle. The Hroth are very much well proportioned for their body this time around.

Right, this thing right there is making me seriously nervous. I know Yoshi said nothing is set in stone, but if they do take this path what is going to happen to tank queues, for example? Will we have a separate queue for MT and OT in content that needs two tanks? What about content that only needs the MT? Will the OT dedicated job be forbidden to join? Or will be able to join but have -and god forbid it- their tank stance removed from their kit as a way to make it obvious they are the OT specialized job and not MT? I already foresee the kicks.
What about mechs that require tank swap or in situations in which the MT dies and OT needs to take over? Just...too many questions, I dislike how this can go wrong in so many situations.

Maybe I'm just reading too much, if they do this they are surely going to rework the entire system, for better or worse I don't know.

It has been my experience more often than not that when you're told not to panic, you probably should. lol I hope this ends well for tanks though considering I'll be becoming one with the release of Gunbreaker.

I think they just mean how the playerbase would see the tanks. Each tank would need to be able to be the main tank in the case of one tank content and the main tank dying in two tank content.

Well i understand many people's disappointment about no male viera, i think you underestimate how many people do want a more beast like race though.


Also well im not positive, i would not freak out to much over the tank comments. I dont think it means that suddenly two tanks will be crappy at tanking bosses.

I imagine it was a time saving method they used. Much easier to re-use meshes then make whole new ones from scratch. Its funny to me that Male Highlander isn't a Midlander based race, But they may have taken more time and reused a lot from 1.0 and so Highlander gets to be its own category, they are a lot wider from front to back then Midlander and so that could have caused weird morphing.

The 1.0 team was super focused on high detail that they could not see anything else, but some of the little details like Tail Holes, ear caps on helms and hats and belts that were visible (its why so much of the early gear looks unfinished/blank) were amazing and while they do still make ear caps, they really don't do the tail holes anymore and didn't even try to do something unique for Au'Ra, they just let the horns clip though the helm, probably to save time. and of course belts don't appear at all anymore!

Basically theirs no worry of them sharing an actual model just that they would share gear models for time saving reasons. Wearing the shared gear wont make them look like Roes because the gear will conform to the Hrothgar body shape.
