Regarding wipeout and most of releases titles were made rush mode. If they had time to optimize the games, for sure they would release it at 60 fps. I can bet with you that gran turismo will be 60 fps with vita. From the start up titles, they managed to do a pretty decent job with mostly of the games. Give them one year and you will see many running 60 fps like call of duty for vita.

I'm not expecting XIV to run at 60FPS, my point was, if something as simple as Wipeout cannot even run at 60FPS (actually it runs at 30FPS, but not even a solid 30FPS, slowdowns occurs), then don't expect XIV to even run properly.

Yeah game were rushed and it's only the start, doesn't change the fact that something like XIV will never run properly on a Vita. XI could however.

Regarding the memory card prices, sure it's expensive, but thats because they had to control it to stop piracy. In case you forgot, they make money with software not hardware. The psp was plagued by piracy which made developers stop producing games to it. That's the whole reason why they decided to go proprietary. You seem to complain about the memory card , but you can't seem to praise them for taking out that proprietary earphone of psp away. Now we can use any kind of device to reproduce the sound with fidelity. Don't blame Sony, blame the freeloaders.

You can get any game to run on the vita. You just have to use a good/optimized engine and an appropriate detail level.

I think if The devs find a way to tweak the controls exclusively for the vita, it would be great. If not, at least you can still play whenever you are whenever you feel like it.

I don't even see the point honestly. If you want a good connection your most likely gonna have to stay @ home so whats the point? Not enough buttons either. If anything they will make a app for it for ps3/vita owners.

It actually is just as powerful even though it does not have as much raw power. It has more system memory but less video memory (cause the resolution is lower it doesn't need as much as the PS3). The GPU is faster but the CPU is slower. It has less cores but that means the devs got less work to do to optimize their games (multithreading). It could probably even run ffxiv as broken as it is right now but the fps wouldn't be enjoyable (I'd guess something around 20fps).

The biggest problem I see though is the mass of updates. Unless you can write on the game's memory stick this game would be filling your all-purpose memory stick with 12GB of tiny files.

Another problem is the low resolution... how you want to fit the walls of text ffxiv currently spams at you into that small display? xD

Not really. 3G might suck, but nowadays , you can get wifi anywhere. Or mostly at least in new York. At work(lol).
About the buttOns, I play it with a ps2 controller with my pc and works wonders. Vita have that plus touch screen and back screen.
