I don't think they should remove Physical Levels should be removed at all.

It does not seem like you read the OP at all.

"save assigned points and reload automatically on class change when you apply new weapons. for example you might need to alot points to DEX as a weaver but maybe you are a conjurer or thaumaturge and dont have DEX with current system it would take days to reallot to be optimal to make 1 item."

This was one of his Proposed changes, and is also one of my comments at the end of the Players Poll 2. This simple change would allow the keeping of physical levels plus the seperate customization of each classes stats seperately, Rather than one customization for all classes.

People already voted on this.

No one wants to see uniqueness go away but then again no one wants a Shades of Grey free-for-all either. There are other ways to make the game unique and keep diversity than keeping the Physical Level and points.

We could still get stat points when ranking up but make the default stats for that class locked in. That way the job has its original specifications met and we can build on top of those to customize it to our liking.

If you think about it. This makes sense because you rarely need a drastic stat change when using a class for other than its original purpose.

Why would you put a lot of Accuracy on a WHM?

Why would you redistribute your NIN Eva to Int? In order to nuke better on it?

Why would you put your PLD Def/Vit more into Str? You going to be a DD?

LOL. I know I made some silly scenarios BUT my point is there is always a solution other than lighting torches and mobbing SE because they want to take a useless aspect out of the game. Their main point was PHYSICAL level is useless and has to go. As far as stat allotments go, there are a million ways to skin a cat... Who knows maybe even PHYSICAL lvl would be worth keeping if it served some other purpose.

A hard cap is something different than what FFXIV has. It's attribute system has soft caps, not hard. Even when you hit 174 points, your stats can go over with gear and will do damn near to nothing for you. Even past 110 you start to get diminishing results. This is what a soft cap is. You can go past this point and your returns will make little difference between 110/115-174. Hard caps mean you CANNOT cross that stat enhancement. When you can, in FFXIV.

If you actually read the letters from the producer, forum posts, and recent interviews you'll know that the whole allotment system, modifiers, and skill effects will be simplified.

The problem right now is the modifiers are too complex and imbalanced and need that simplification...badly. I knew this was coming since beta when I saw how large the stat pool was. I'm just glad they will be doing something about it so we can actually start to make better sense of how to utilize different builds. People are mostly just maxing VIT of MND with little emphasis on anything else. It's boring.

First of all, there are no PLD WHM and NIN in this game yet. Those posts were off topic.

Secondly, Have you ever decided that once you reached Physical level 50, R50 in a different class, and decided "Hey, I want to level one of my R1 Jobs" Without physical level, that R1 Job will be just as weak as if you had just started the game from scratch. I for one liked being able to switch from R50 Gladiator to R1 Marauder and be able to kill slightly stronger enemies and faster because of my 'Been there, Done that' Strength. I Ranked up Thm just fine as well with my extreme STR and VIT. I can even take hits thanks to that. I still had 100 Mind to work with, with a bit of Piety.

Take the time to consider the downsides to physical level removal.

You are correct sir. I have my Base Vit set up so that my choice of gear will not take me past 174 Vit.

it they take out the class customization ima be upset. This was one of the reasons I wanted to play ffxiv. I was hoping there wouldn'r be hellbent cookie cutters telling me how to play.

Sorry no one has the right to tell someone else to play. Only execption to the rule are event plans. But everyone has a r9ight to play their character. Just because a person is a hybrid don't mean they suck. I neen more min/maxers suck then hybrids. If they remove the PL and stat allot and this removes customization ima again be upset to no end.

Yes, I do not want my lower ranked characters to be as weak as if I had just started the game. That is one of my reasons for wanting to keep physical level.

As usual, instead of fixing the stats... scrap the system. *rolls eyes*

Firstly: My post was not off-topic. No need to be rude in order to argue.

Secondly: Those were obviously scenarios arguing one of my many points which were all on-topic. I KNOW those jobs AREN'T in the game, because currently the game has CLASSES and none of them are as specific as those I mentioned.

Thirdly: ***I never said get rid of Stat Allocation Points. I actually said the PHYSICAL lvl isn't a required game mechanic needed to get those points.

Fourthly: I have played FFXIV since Closed Beta, Open Beta, and CE Release and have been around long enough to know that the stats are BROKE and always have been. Stop calling the issue a removal of "Stat Point Allocation" and "Diversity". The actuality is the stats first off are broke and need to be fixed in how the work. Period. THEN we can worry about "Diversity".

Well, that would kinda collide with the " you are a character, not a job" ideology?
I mean, you already have a lot of skills from other classes, so you are overpowered anyways.Compared to someone who just started brand new.
Why not instead let you customize your character fully?Or at least to a degree when the impact at lv 50 to move stats around is important and not minimal.
