I feel for the OP. I struggle with DPS rotations too, and BLM was my first choice job, only to find myself a stumbling mess while playing it.
It's a different skill set than what's needed for healing or tanking. I won't put words into OPs mouth since I simply don't know them personally, but I feel that I'm in the very small minority of players that finds the methodologies of being a good (even average) Damage Dealer job player painful, difficult, and thusly unsatisfying to play compared to the ones employed by healers, and to a lesser extent, tanks.
So, just saying "gitgud" means nothing when despite following guides, knowing what the rotations are, and practicing, I feel like I'm teetering into a mild anxiety spell from the upkeep of precision required to frankly not suck.
It's not fun, but, because DPS so vastly overpopulate heals/tanks, it's not a common issue, nor one that players are encouraged to work through, unlike with tanking anxiety.
