My question is why are people who want this kind of game playing XIV to begin with. It is not a quest grinder or PvP focused, and that was known at launch. It is very very obvious SE is not making it a quest grinder... the fact they are not adding long quest arcs with high XP and such is proof of that.
People who want western style quest Hube style game should play Rift, WoW, ToR or a game along those lines. I just do not see this game targeting those kind of players anytime soon at all if ever.
But for me atm while this game had 1/10th the quest of say Rift atm..... I can easily log in at night and play XIV for 2-3 hrs longer then I can stomach say Rift or WoW. All due to grouping. Running instances nonstop gets boring, and playing solo is just not fun if over 20-30mins. PvP is ok for short burst but a stupid rogue jumping in circles around you can only amuse one for so long. Being able to log in play with others from level 15 all the way through endgame in almost all aspects of the game is vastly more enjoyable then soloing... this is something that is impossible to really do on any western game and why myself and others are enjoying what is in the game atm even though no will argue it is not enough and alot of it is broken.
Many disagree and like the Solo player rpg feel outside instances and I can respect that but I suggest playing a game designed for your play preference.
My suggestion for those who want a game based on questing is to quit this game not until 1.21 but until 2.0 when the new free trial comes, Then see if you like the new XIV style. Then if you hate it just quit for good because the game is not for you at that point.
But honestly if you hate the game now... looking at the schedule the dev released awhile ago... nothing is going to change it anytime soon.
