Special Mounts

I love the mob-mount idea <3

Man, I don't know about anyone else but I thought the images of the goobbue mouth last night was the most exciting part of the whole video. >>
Totally hope that turns into a real thing.

What better way to immortalize your character as one of the first to set foot in Eorzea? I'm definitely sticking around now. It'll only take me a few more uninterrupted days to get to 50 now. Thank God for Thanksgiving Break.

There is one thing I hope for, though.

The ability to CHOOSE our mount. I don't want to be pegged to a Goobue or Ahriman because I joined the Limsa Lominsan Grand Company.

I fully agree- It would be silly to peg players to only certain mounts. Especially when it might of influenced our decision of which GC we would join.

...and Magitek armor mount FTW.

I'm not sure why people are worried about Goobbues filing up everyones' screens. I very rarely see more than one chocobo around and I'd imagine there are going to be even less people playing once p2p starts (Which means that only a small percentage of the population, come v2.0 would actually have goobbues.) The only time a group of mounts would be in your screen is when you are traveling to a camp with your party.

This game isn't like WoW where you can flood the town with mounts which is where you actually see the most clutter of mounts on your screen at once. Hell, since they are making the game a lot more centralized around instanced dungeons, we may never use our mounts.

Yeah, I was sort of wondering why they're even bothering with mounts if they want to make everything instanced anyways. And they want to make a cross-server group finder. Sounds like it'd just teleport you into the instance with your group and there wouldn't be much/any traveling anyways because the game might become one big lobby. o.o; (boring~~)
But I'd reeeeeeeaaally love if we had lots of open world content~~ *nudges SE*

Those mounts aren't set in stone or anything, but say they did give us 3.. I wonder if we get all 3 or only get to choose one. If only one.. well there aren't many monsters in the game that I like (or that even seem suitable for riding on), so it'd be an easy decision for me. The only ones I've ever wanted were antelope, drake, and a horse-like monster like the sleipnir from FFXII:
