The problem is not the consoles, it's the issue of getting the add-on onto the consoles (currently only through Sony). Because the distribution process is so bureaucratic, it would result in people simply not replicating their PC add-on to the Sony platforms and we would have disparity between users because they do not have access to "necessary" add-ons for high level play.

I have endlessly seen the players requiring everyone else to use "X addon" in other mmos, kicking people over it, making weird addons to track statistics on each person. Simply ignoring them is not an option as over itme it grows and eventually takes over. I am glad to not see them, the games ui is functional and good, though I do hope they continue to improve on it as there are curiously basic things missing, I do not think addons will be worth it in the *long* run.

The only people who will ask people to use certain addons are serious raiding guilds, which you should have to start with when applying, I have never seen random groups ever kick someone for not having addons, you can't track others having addons which means you are lieing and just trying to scare monger people.

am i the only 1 who hopes we never get an official parser?? lol ff14 community can be very toxic already without addin more fuel to the fire

Not just serious raiding guild, but all the wannabe's as well. I've been through it before and it sucks. Your right they cant exactly track, but they still demand, blame losses on lack thereof, etc. I've been through this several times watching addons be cool, then devolve into a mess before. Don't wanna see it again. Also I said statistics, not tracking addons.

You can track stats on the official armoury which is open to every one to see, people will blame regardless, like I said before, even if you don't have addons if you make mistakes, you will still get people calling you out, it doesn't change the result, addons either prove the person wrong or right which it self is not indicative of a toxic attitude as much as you are trying to pin it on addons.

imo id rather the game not get addons. Id rather not be banned or kicked from a group just because im not running a specific addon.

If you got kicked, its more to the fact you did something wrong on a boss fight, people do not know if you have an addon installed or not, and if a group on pf stated you needed said addon but you decided to join anyways ignoring the group leaders request, thats your own fault for not respecting the party leader.

i wasnt kicked in this game, ive just seen it in other games that have addons

And most of the kicking in this game is done through mistakes, and a lot of people tend to be more strict when it comes to at least extreme mode content or raids, which is true for other mmos out there, also you have only seen it in other mmos? So you have never actually experienced this? People get kicked because its usually warranted, people usually have to do something wrong for this to happen, addons do not cause that.
