Concerning the PIE buff on SCH/AST, please do not remove it.

To be honest, this topic brought another concern to my mind, and one I would likewise like to have addressed - most accurately, the fact that 4man parties exist, thus giving each healer "Mind or Piety" creates a situation in which they will not have two major stats for themselves. And in mirror to this, we have Tanks who only bring VIT, so they lose out on STR if there isn't a melee.

If they wanted to tackle both these issues at once, they could easily make it so that, 'Under the effects of a Light/Full party, you gain the effect of Piety and Vitality naturally.' Both Piety and Vitality are stats that purely boost HP/MP. They go well being paired together in such a manner.

This would free them up to add STR bonus to tanks, who would then no longer need to have a melee in the party during 4-man content (A very possible and likely scenario) to be able to operate within their expected parameters; as well as add MND bonus to healers, so that they are never forced to have weaker heals in party content.

Seems like they should just remove party bonuses all together. I'm still not really sure what the point of them is.

I believe the intent was to discourage class stacking but the LB change handled that well enough. At this point though just give everyone a universal party bonus for being in a party and be done with it. Static parameter buffs are becoming an archaic function in my opinion. The average group is going to try and diversify their comp regardless of that because of different tools available to different jobs and because of the LB change.

Agreed, I think this made a more sense prior to adding the new jobs and to the LB changes. With the new jobs and LB changes, it makes less sense.

OK to remove and change to MND bonus if...

All races of BLM adjusted to have a base PIE value of 264 or higher.

The only thing about this is the party buff is a %, not a set amount.

Piety values on materia suck. Wind up trading more than 1 crit or spd for each point of PIE. The only acceptable way I'd do it is on customized relic, because then you can get exactly the amount of pie you want at a 1 for 1 trade with other secondary stats while still having capped spell speed.
