screw bard, know what I want?

Good idea!
New class instead of bard from previous game sounds good to me. Keep it new and interesting.
Time mage also definitely sounds more fun than boring bard and would server as an additional mage job.

A lot of these ideas sound great, but how would you level a time mage solo? Its just debuffing/buffing with poor weaponskill?

TBH I don't see why all classes need to be able to solo. I mean sure, they could put this one offensive movement as basic attack and have them dish the rest out through buffing and debuffing... but I wouldn't mind not being the best at soloing. Plus time mage has stuff like stop and teleport which would allow it to survive when exploring on its own.

Why would jobs need to solo? Thats what classes are for.

As a matter of fact, the devs were very specific to say that classes will be more solo oriented and jobs will be group oriented.

Time Mage was one of my favorite jobs in FFT, and I would LOVE to see it in 14, they could make Arcanist the req class for it methinks.

time mage would be a great edition to ffxiv class roster, it would definitely be a debuffer class. IE: improved slow, stop, mass haste,demi, regen reverse etc .while the bard is a buffer and have ability,s like regen/ mp regen . attack boost. dex boost etc etc.
