How Many Of You DO NOT Watch Videos Of Fights?

Progress group pretty much explain everything most of time.
Only watch to see what I can improve myself. Or start pull team down with misunderstand mechanic.
Though I would never go in blind with farm group. Cause that would be silly if I didn´t beat it before go join farm group

if I'm trying an EX fight in a PUG I'll check a guide for quick notes since the overflow of info can be more of a hindrance for me. If we're all going in fresh I'll check for notes after a few pulls if needed.

Dungeons and 24mans get no guides.

Only time I watch a video, is for Extreme/Coil/Alex Raids. Nothing else. Everything else can be face rolled anyways.

If I can find a full party of folks who are interested in going into a fight blind, or willing to tolerate others doing so, I may forego studying up on the fight beforehand. If I'm participating with strangers, though, I feel that it's rude to burden them.

If you're participating with friends or FC-mates, feel free to learn on the go (but even so, let them know ahead of time what you're doing). If you're jumping into duty finder, though, keep in mind that you're not just wasting your own time - you're wasting the time of seven other people, as well.

And if you're joining a farm party as a blind newbie, you're pretty much just a troll and deserve whatever abuse they heap on you. :p

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you're suggesting that, to have to watch a video, would mean that the fight has to be soul crushingly hard to warrant it. Which is not the case.

Some people learn by reading instructions. Others learn by example (videos). And others learn by doing.

I am the third, but i don't like to go in blind, so i look for my hints in video format.

The same people that don't watch videos are the ones asking others to explain mechanics before fights, go figure.
If you're not gonna watch the video, I'm not going to explain the fight, you want to know the fight? Go watch the video.

I don't watch videos because I never get it from videos. Too much distraction and useless information. I read guides sometimes. I usually adapt fast to the battle. After all it's always very different to do the actual thing than watch a video. It feels different. A quick well written and simple guide and few tips from others is usually what you need. The actual thing is the best practise.

1) Not watching a video =/= not studying the fight. You people need to stop only focusing on videos.
2) Most 4-man content is easy enough to do completely blind with at most one wipe per boss.
3) Don't generalize, I don't study 4-man content, but I would never require anyone to give any pointers. If someone feels like giving pointers because they see the new player message, or when we wipe, it's just their decision.

I prefer to avoid watching videos whenever possible, so I end up trying to get content done on the very first day.
