Still no word on Au Ra Naming Conventions?

It's easy to understand, really. They don't want to just release the English ones and then cause people to misunderstand something by translating it themselves.

"Due to preparations for the launch of Heavensward, Au Ra will not be available immediately after launch. We do plan on making them available in a future patch. Please
look forward to it."
When I read this, I see someone "quoting" that the Race isn't available at launch.

I just googled the first sentence of that "quote", and no, it doesn't actually exist. It's someone attempting (poorly) to troll.

Or, y'know, it was meant to be a joke we can all laugh at. Just because the joke goes over your head doesn't mean it's a troll. >_>

Thats why I asked if they could source it; or would just call it troll.

actually I doubt anyone would think that was a Joke. With as many things throughout XIV's lifetime that have been getting pushed back a patch, til relaunch or expansion; "quoting" that could have been real and I, for one, wanted to know its authenticity before launch. The fact that the multi-languages are taking so long to translate the Naming Conventions just leads to what other troubles could they be hitting

While I won't comment on the taste of the joke itself, I will point out that this is common in humor: Making light of trends and tendencies. Something that happens frequently is frequently a target, as it were.

So if someone quotes something without a link, name, or source, you demand the original poster provide one or it's trolling? OK, would you take this in earnest?

Just because something's quoted doesn't mean it's an official statement, or even that it was a forum post by anyone.

Can't comment on the taste of the joke, but people shouldn't have to spoonfeed you that it's a joke.

(Though, given they're working 12s and seemingly are too swamped to translate the Auri naming conventions and the lore behind them, I'm a bit scared we won't have them before EA or launch. Just my 2 cents.)

I have to admit I'm starting to get worried about this too. If they don't release this soon then they're going to have a flood on their hands when people all over the place go to change their character names. Not something the Mog Station needs when it's already going to be fielding Pre-order codes, registration, etc.
