Bye, I don't think this game and community will miss anyone who can't even provide a valuable feedback.
Why does derplander have more emotes than my character? -_-

could some one explain to me what makes this new specialization so different from how it is now? is it a bad thing?
Bayohne has translated some of the live letter here.
Specialization seems to be intended as an alternative to Omnicrafting. (i.e. you do not need all the cross class skills to craft all the recipes in your specializations)Quote:

Now you can level up desynthesis on good level only with 3 crafters too. I don't think that specialization will heavily broke the craft system, but people are afraid of that and I can understand it. Desynthesis doesn't affect craft as much as the specialization will, I guess.
The impression I got was that you can level ALL of the crafts to 60 but your specialization choices unlock extra skills for those classes. Effectively you will be able to craft basic stuff with every craft but you will only be able to craft the particularly difficult stuff with three of them. As much as some people will bemoan this we needed it desperately to stimulate the economy a bit. As it stands at the moment there is far too much supply for everything and prices plummet far too quickly.
As a crafter myself, I find it extremely difficult and expensive to keep up with crafters who can craft all of the things. This will allow me to pick a few key specializations and still be competitive in the market.
So long as crafted materials don't fall under these specialties like how Wootz Ingots, Ebony Lumber, Platinum Ingots, etc. are all 4-star crafts and pretty much require Lucis tools AND second master recipe books to craft, I'm fine with the specialty system. Specialty crafts should be finished items like weapons, armor, consumables, etc.
Why didn't they do a Q&A?
I have Q's and they need some A's!
So what was the video they showed in the warm up then? The one with a Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist and Ninja in a dungeon?
You can change "specialization" with paying those special tomes...
If we can buy BiS gear with those special tomes just like fighting classes, well... it may becomes fun...
But really? More currency AGAIN ?!
At beginning i thought, crap grinding shit with weekly cap...
But at secund thought and with looking how it works fine for fighting classes i begin to think it could be a good idea - still all depends on pricing!
If you need one week just to change specializing, then how you should buy the gear? and so on... We dont have YEARS to master a class, next patch improves and adds more...
Same with that special skill you get as specialist: does it simple add chances to not fail - fighting RNG or is it needed to finish high level crafts? We just dont know enough yet to say if its good or bad, but somehow i become a bad feeling thinking about it...
I feel a little disappointed from Live Letter, they announced they would do Q and A at the beginning but cut it short.
I do like hearing that if you want to become a fisher for your life, you have tomes now for DoL. Supaaa Seriousu-ness ^^
Airship FC please look forward to it.
Also the Loot master - All greed mode finally for farm runs. No ninja need hookers anymore. ;p
