Should I Work on Zodiac: Yay or Nay?

YAY!!, go ahead. At this point you "may" have more Sol tomes then you know what to do with. I view finsihing the Zeta quest as a gift to myself. Its something no one can ever take away from you. Just have fun whatever you do. Good Luck!

To be a little clearer, Soldiery weapons cap at i110. Poetics weapons cap at i130 and require clearing FCoB up through T11. OP is very new to the game (assuming it isn't an alt, based on the post) and hasn't even cleared T5 yet. I agree it's not anywhere close to the best option, but it is really easy. This game practically stuffs soldiery in your pockets at every turn. Soldiery weapons aren't bad at all to get yourself a foothold.

EX primals? Yeah, i110 is fine. Binding Coil and Second Coil of Bahamut wouldn't be a problem either. I don't think many people would take a dps with an i110 weapon for Final Coil (which is our current endgame content), though.

Honestly, I don't mind the Zodiac grind. It gives me a long-term goal to work towards. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be. Yes you will have days when you are frustrated with RNG, but you'll have that in a lot of situations ingame. You can even have that in Gold Saucer (dem cards and mini cactpot tickets!). I'm working on my 3rd Zodiac now (have completed Excalibur Zeta and Last Resort Zeta and am now working on Bravura Nexus). Working at it casually, I've gotten 20% of the light I need to get to Nexus within a few days. Mostly, I've been doing dungeons and trials while helping friends with exp, doing daily roulettes, or farming cards/zodiac drops in DF. As far as money investment goes, you can always split the stats on them three ways and avoid a lot of the cost because you avoid the need to use tier IV materia. Unless you're intent on min/maxing, it works just fine.

I'm not confused about it, I am merely telling you what the wiki calls it. I do not care that much what it is called and my main point from earlier was that it is a ilvl100 weapon in relation to the other person asking if ilvl100 stuff is okay for EX trials. I have done some EX trials using it and carried my own weight in the groups DPS wise with it. I'll call it the oogie-woogie weapon if people are that upset that both me and the wiki called it Zodiac...but overall the name really does not matter to me so find it a little odd that people care so much about me quoting what the wiki says.
