yeah, sure! good way to make the game go down...
it's a mmorpg, involving a loooot of people for the devellopement of content and you want to pay them what? fresh water and air? i'm tired recently of the reaction of some kids that pretend that gaming industry try to steal them... the sub didn't change since more of 10 years, actually FF14 offer one of the less expensive subs of the industry.
just like this, the price of the last expansion of world of warcraft is 49.99usd and the content we will receive far exceed what they did receive. then....
40 USD is not much at all. If it is 40 GBP though then it is expensive since 40 USD is only around 25 GBP if converted. The UK amazon site lists for example the console versions for around 44-47 GBP which equals around 70+ USD but it does not list the PC price. Keep in mind none of these price listings are set in stone and I think they are placeholders or estimates for time being only.
I am hoping they don't rip me off too much just because live in the UK as opposed to the US, I hope the PC digital version is no more than 30 GBP, any more than that and it is becoming expensive for a PC game or expansion which tends to be cheaper than console versions anyways. D3 RoS expansion for example only cost me 22 GBP for new digital version, that was fair price in my opinion for expansions in general being approx 20-30 GBP / 30-45 USD.
If it is 40+ GBP though for normal non-CE digital version of the expansion aka 70+ in USD, then sorry but won't be buying till price drops drastically. What I am willing to spend is kind of set in stone from habit already, on PC up to 35 GBP for new standard version PC game, up to 60 GBP for CE version of new PC game and ideally around 25 GBP for new expansions to pre-existing PC games though I might stretch to 30 GBP at most. Outside of that I would wait till prices drop in those sort of ranges as I have always done.
I paid $100 for my collectors edition at the official 1.0 release. The reason the game was cheaper at ARR launch is because a large number of people (they broke pre-order records for an mmo with 1.0 release) had already purchased the game. There was also a period of time when 1.0 was discounted dramatically (down as low as $10) and if you happened to purchase one of those original copies it was still upgradeable to ARR for free.
To me $40 seems pretty standard for an expansion these days, I'm surprised it's not higher than that to be honest. You have triple a titles releasing $20-30 season passes for not even close to the amount of content being released in this expansion.
The only ripoff here in my opinion will be having to purchase it twice in order to play on ps4 and pc but I don't think SE has much sway in that since Sony probably set those terms to begin with. That's not confirmed but I'm pretty sure it will be necessary based on information we know now.
i already linked to official pricing a page or two back. https://store.na.square-enix.com/pro...rd-pc-download
And one of the best for giving some great content updates in return too.
Look carefully again, that's for FFXV, that's what Amazon UK brings up when searching Heavensward! I did a double take when I first searched and found there was an Xbox One version. It's only when I clicked into it I realised it was for XV, not Heavensward.
That's only for US though, it's not listed yet on SE's EU site. Also, no confirmation yet of price for CE, which is definitely the one I'm interested in.
Fair enough I had no intention of reading every single post in here, but that is not what the majority of my comment is directed towards...pricing in US is different to UK and currently the expansion is not listed on the UK store. 40 USD is not expensive, it's around 25 GBP but if when is listed on EU/UK store ends up being 40 GBP then that is expensive. So I hope it's not more than 20-30 GBP over here, ideally 25 GBP which equals 40 USD...at that price it would be a good price to me.
Oh your right, seems UK amazon does not list the expansion yet but the american amazon does.

not sure, but somehow it bothers me if I pay $40 for an expansion after 1+ year playing loyalty and then there will be a version ARR+Heavensward $50 or less. I will continue playing for sure but it builds up when you pay 3 accounts (mine and my two son's accounts)
