If you are testing in a real world situation, there are a number of variables not typically present in a controlled environment, which probably account for the successful immediate casts:
1. Conditions for auto casting may not always be met (keep in mind the 20y range of auto casting).
2. If auto-casting conditions are met, you have about a 1 in 3 chance that you will hit the button while Eos is done casting and waiting for her cooldown to finish.
3. If the faerie is moving or starts moving to catch up to you after the cancellation, that could hinder auto-casting.

I conducted my testing in a controlled environment and created auto-casting conditions by changing equipment. Have you been doing that when you have tested out of combat?

For FC and FI under auto-casting conditions, the interrupt macro resulted in Eos re-starting Embrace, then using the ability 100% of the time.

Whispering Dawn, on the other hand, worked for me as before 100% of the time. Have you had any hiccups with WD in live situations?

When I initially tested it out I used the same method of tanking my hp via gearsets and the results were identical to yours, she always performed the action after the next queued embrace. The problem though is that in a raid setting her actions are not so clean and I know she fills your criteria since I religiously place her to be in range of everybody + minimize her movements. That said a notable issue with the macros for me was in t13 where we had a bad push into gigaflare soon after megaflare. The general rotation ended up as; Auto- Embrace > interrupted with Fey Cov macro > New Auto-Embrace > Finished but no Fey cov follow-up, casting another auto-embrace > press Fey Cov again > again a new Embrace finished with no follow-up. At that point gigaflare was casting so I tossed out a few emergency lustrates to top one dps/mt off and panic-spammed the macro to hopefully get it out. It finally did 1 sec before gigaflare some time after I lustrated the dps so the only sub 80 target was the mt. So it's either natural latency spikes in high activity spots causing the macro to perform its order incorrectly, or there might be some erroneous interaction with the macro when multiple people are below 80% and you start breaking embraces + queuing an action. Either way I'd suggest using the queuing macros or base skills for fey cov/illum and all of selene's spells if you manually control her.

Whispering Dawn seems to work the same as before, maybe because it's a channeled spell? However I will preface that by saying I'm not an avid user of Eos outside of coil and when I do use her in coil I usually have her cast it preemptively. Because of that I haven't experienced the macro during auto-embraces at any length to say otherwise. I'll use her more during WoD spam this week to see.

I just wanted to leave a quick note of thanks for writing this guide. I joined a forming static and we ended up with two WHMs; it looks like I might have to SCH for it so I've been brushing up, but I don't think I've found anything that goes quite in depth as this. It's great to know that fairy CDs will queue as of patch 2.5 too.

We've received a few reports regarding scholar fairies behavior since Patch 2.5 in the bug report section and the development team is currently looking into them.

Does this mean that the queuing is possibly a bug? or the interrupting of spells to auto-Embrace? Or both?

It is good to know the eventual casting of the desired skill after the re-cast of Embrace is unreliable in the heat of battle. Even if that wasn't an issue, the re-cast of Embrace is pretty counter-productive, so queue macros would be the way to go anyways.

You may be on to something with the server side/client side stuff. FI and FC have always felt a little sluggish or off to me. If those two are server side, they probably were all along and it wasn't an issue until Embrace cooldown became refundable. I suppose one way to test it would be to try it under severe lag.

I feel so honored to have a Dev post on my humble thread. Around the time I first posted, I submitted a bug report for auto-casting of embrace only triggering within 20 or 25 yalms instead of 30. I would greatly appreciate if that was looked into along with the new ones.

...huh. Not too often that we get a dev post down in the healer forums, though it's good to know you're keeping on top of things that might be bugs.

Grekumah (or other CMs), is it possible you could share which part of the behavior is unintended? So we can prepare to adjust when it's fixed.

I am really shocked this was moved to the accepted bugs section. I also tested this and the range is actually shorter than you think. Stoneskin is a 25y spell so we placed a party member at max range of stoneskin to confirm distance. Had them switch from WHM to warrior and the fairy would not heal him. Had him switch back to whm and stand at max range for medica 2, which is a 20y spell and the fairy began casting embrace when he switched to warrior.

As it stands, I often use this to place my fairy out of range of one tank to prioritize heals on the other. I'm not sure how retooling the spell will affect current game play.
