I don't understand...

Ugh man, I ran into a BLM once who would do nothing but spam Ruin. Yes you read that right, Ruin. He cross classed an ability that not even Summoners/Scholars want to use. The only other ability he would do was Blizzard to get back some MP, then back to Ruin spam.

Also I was playing with a BLM from a linkshell or FC (can't remember which) and they just spammed Fire 3 till out of MP, then Blizzard 3.


I feel so bad when I try to help them with their rotation. I'm never mean, I'm always polite about it and genuinely trying to help them. I could care less if the run is slow, I help new players all the time. But when I first ask how they do their rotation I always cringe as I say it. I feel like no matter how nice I'm being about it that it's condescending and that to them it feels like I'm telling them they're bad and I know how to play better than them. Which technically is the truth, but it's not what I'm meaning when I try to help, I'm just genuinely trying to help them improve so they can have more fun with their job, join content where less forgiving people would rage at them.

In the end though I always tell them, they are the ones playing and they can play how ever they enjoy playing, I'm just trying to offer helpful advice.

Some people just don't care. Good thing is, the majority of those people never try to do any raids, so you rarely seem them past primals. There are plenty of bad players who do, but not a lot of terrible ones like that. I did see one guy get carried by his coil group consistently though. Dude didn't realize Cure 3 was AoE, didn't think regen was worth anything, and thought medica 2 was better than medica in instances where the regen wouldn't take effect (He'd spam it til they were full). Loved listening to that guy. He'd go on about how great he was because he had coil gear. lol

As far as a person being bad I don't care. Only time I'm gonna call a player out is when that player starts pulling additional mobs and purposefully trying to wipe the group. This is the only time "screaming" harassment from a bad player is gonna be justified. Not omg he can't DPS and put out uber 1337 h@x0r numbers.

As far as all the complaining here goes, trivial at best.

You wouldn't believe how many black mages I see that never use thunder. Sometimes I even see dragoons that don't use their chaos thrust combo.

This is during trial roulettes. So endgame.

When i want to be super lazy, I tank. If I feel like it, I can take it super easy, maybe do some texting/chatting to my fc or a couple ls and as long as I occasionally press 123, spam overpower/flash and generally hold threat, nobody is ever the wiser.

I find that on dragoon that I have a 3 strike limit, if the tank is going to turn mobs into beyblades and I can't hit the mobs with heavy thrust, disembowel, or chaos thrust I'm going to stop trying and just do my rotation anyways with or without them.

Heh, I do the same thing on my Scholar. I have my Fairy's heal that costs no MP on my hotbar (and I use a controller) so I just spam X and occasionally use Adlo (Heal plus a bubble of the same amount cured, double if it's a crit). I'll watch some TV, chat with LS/FC friends, what ever. If the tank ever drops low I always have some Lustrates available.

Half the time on anything that isn't a Primal fight or Coils, I can just spam my Fairy's heal and my own every couple seconds and barely even have to watch the screen. And no, nobody ever dies unless they're dumb and stand in the AoEs multiple times, in which case I'd let them die anyways.

There was a BLM in an AK run who refused to move out of any AoE, on the last boss he wouldn't run away from the big red light explosion, he wouldn't move when the pulsing orb targeted him. I just didn't heal him for any of it and he eventually learned to move... when he was sitting at sub-100 health ;)

This is why I prefer the old format for grouping which consisted on just getting the bodies to do the content and having a blast.

Cannot really comment on XIV, still a baby, but in XI, I was extremely aggressive, others were not, but the bosses went down regardless. "Shrugs"

Unless there was a time-limit; this was a non-issue in most mmorpgs (from my personal experience). I am an extremely nice/understand guy in rl, maybe that factors into my playstyle; when the whm slips up and my avatar is lying flat on his face; whm says "Srry, lag" I would respond, "Np, I am still alive and handsome in rl."

I just have some serious questions for the people who say "Let me play my way"

Have you considered that your way of playing is not how 3/7 other people want to play? What makes you more important then the 3/7 other people in your party? Why is it that you expect others to abide by your style, but you won't abide to theirs?

This is an MMO. Encounters are a GROUP effort. If 3/7 people are actually trying and one isn't, is that fair to the 3/7 others? Is pulling down 3/7 others fun for you?

Honestly, why do some people find it so offensive when others actually expect competent play? It really isn't to much to ask. And it's not about being l33t #1 dps world beaters. It's about being competent when on other people's time.
