The feature is mainly there to help people in a FC where the leader quits instead of disbanding the FC and make a new one, someone else can take over leadership duties.

The issue I can see there is simply that if you have enough votes pushing for a member to be GM, be it due them forming a cliche or a substantial number of them are friends might make it that the FC promotes an individual not desired for leadership role by the original GM

The logical choice is the pass GM to the next highest ranking player in the FC as the rank can be deemed as a vote of confidence by the original GM

Firstly, this is how ownership is passed:

1. Members who have logged in within the past seven days
2. Higher-ranked members preferred
3. Senior members preferred

Find some one you trust, that logs in at least once weekly, and make a higher position for them,
it will auto go to them. rather than anyone in a lower position.

Second, if you are really taking that much time away, in a FC you don't talk to aside from your one friend,
Let the others go. Its not beneficial to them, and is quite the opposite.

If your leaving for a extended period of time it would be prudent to promote a intermin leader anyways. If it's something out of your control you should still have one or two trustworthy backups. You could also not just /invite every single person you see.
