Ah I see, sorry :P

"You will gain enough SP after completion of the leve, if you look at this as single leve then sure it will look as a downgrade."
"There may be a temporary situation where you may think "Overall SP got bad" since we can't put everything into 1.18."
"But for if you look from users point of view and know that this is weird, it should be implemented as fast as possible even if the changes are good or bad changes."
and we wonder why people have been saying that we need to get the sp while we can get it. hmmm wonder who got flamed for the use of the change for the sake of change regardless if the change is good or bad?
in his own interview promoting his new concepts he uses the words those statements? the new system can be looked at as a downgrade? the sp will be bad? and changes are being thrown in whether they are good or bad? thank goodenss i won't be doing much leveling on the new system until cap increases.
The leve-ticket idea sounds interesting. Made a thread about how to implement it:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Implement-This
You will notice however that this is only due to the 1.18 patch not having everything in it. Yes, they could hold it back until everything is ready, but going by the atmosphere currently present on the forums etc (As in, why isn't there new stuff, it has been X months!) they want to get something out, and fix what is seen as an issue for the moment.
It is all part of The Plan, and unless they just held everything back until it was all complete then things are going to be odd, be it that XP becomes good/bad/completely random. Plus it isn't an interview, it is him responding to forum posts in a way that isn't PR speak - would you rather he just said, oh no, things during this time of massive change will just be awesome, no problems even as we implement things earlier than we might otherwise to keep people reasonably happy that things are actually happening.
As to getting the SP 'while we can', I'm sure that come the full implementation of the various plans hinted at, you will have enough ways to have it coming out of your ears rather than gaming the Leve system for maximum SP. I am definitely looking forward to hunting becoming a viable way to earn XP, as it can be a fun thing to do with friends and it doesn't have defined start or end, so lets you do as you wish.
They are between a rock and a hard place as many folk don't seem to realise anything is happening unless it is implemented on the live servers, and then when they do, of course when it is a work in progress things are not going to be perfect. I'm interested in hearing more about the multiple activities outside of Leves intended for parties in the future, it seems even monster hunting and some sort of 'world events' (I use that in the same way as Behest) will make up the majority of play time, rather than Leves as it is now.
I'm looking forward to hearing the overall 'game plan' in the future, because the game we are getting isn't the one I signed up for, but I'm intrigued none the less.
I really can't believe they're gimping our SP and expecting us to just wait it out until the game "gets better". Is this a joke? They are making an already by and large unenjoyable game even less enjoyable for those of us sticking around. This is a slap in the face, I honestly can't believe it.
I can accept change, fine no problem. But to take away (to a degree) the only thing any of us enjoy in the game and not offer any sort of replacement for months is unbelievable. Again, is this a joke?
this is why i posted the quotes from him. there are many people that have been waiting for this patch and the dungeons for their return to this game before they decided to throw the game away. yoshi talked this patch up so high that they had many posts about how this would be the last straw for them. they wanted to come on and see the new battle adjustments and content that has been 10 months in the making. when they come in, because we know the majority of them do not come in these forums, and see half finished stuff removed and more half implemented stuff put in its place what is the reaction going to be.
i'm here and will likely still play although my play time will drop dramatically, but was hoping this patch would bring more people to the game. those quotes make it look like we will have more going into the watching lodestone and checking in every now and then mode. these servers are already dead and we don't need anything to make them die even farther.
at this point they cannot be releasing half completed stuff. this is what got tanaka canned and this new group are following the same pattern. we need completed stuff not more half done things littering the game.
they say in the future they will finish this and that with the battle system, but in case i remember they were working on completing player ran companies directly after release.
you are right people want fixes. they do not want half completed things removed and replaced with even more half completed things.
yes, i notice that 1.18 does not have everything in it, but i wonder how many of the vast majority that have already left know this. i know a very small minority of even the current players come on these forums to check on things and i am sure it would be an even smaller percentage of the ones that have went into wait mode are visiting here.
if they do not know it is half completed stuff then when they come in their reaction will be "i waited for 10 months and this is the best they can come up with".
Christ it already begins. Please try to keep the moaning shit out of this thread guys, the forums are going to be a total firestorm of rage from 1.18 till 1.2 anyway, let's keep this thread clean for the awesome translation stuff Reinheart is doing (thanks so much for this!).
I will say, I wish they'd announce this game was going back into beta already. We're in beta now, hence patches with unfinished content, that's just the way it is. Just accept that, and move on.
What the hell is the point in even levelling stuff up right now anyway? If it's just a crappy grind it seems totally pointless to me.
I hope, one day, a subligar is named after you.
