Here are a few examples:

A Good Monk is constantly switching between back and flank to keep getting positional bonuses. A Bad Monk will go to either flank or back, and stay there.

A Good Monk keeps their 100% uptime buffs up(Twin Strikes, Dragon Kick, Greased Lightning) at all points where it is feasible to do so. A Bad Monk will forget or just fail to keep them up even when it's possible.

A Good Monk will level up Dragoon and Marauder(especially Dragoon) to acquire essential cross class skills. A Bad Monk will not.

A Good Monk will stay out of AOE. A Bad Monk will not.

A Good Monk tries to find the best times to use their utility moves, such as Stun, Silence, One Ilm Punch, and Mantra. A Bad Monk does not.

Everything she said.. To add on: Good Monks keep their DoTs up. Im able to see all debuffs on my target so I make sure to look out for Demolish/Fracture/Touch of Death.

A great monk always has Fists of Fire up, and will cycle between Earth, Fire, and Wind depending on battle/situation

everything mrdiezel and donjo in above threads posted....though im not sure about the keeping DoTs up, i mainly focus on demolish personall

this is my personal build GL3 set, perhaps not the best, but since im normally tanking, i havent had much time to optimize it perfectly

bootshine > true strike > demolish > dragon kick > twin snakes > snap punch > bootshine > true strike > demolish

AFTER i get my GL3

dragon kick > twin snakes > snap punch > bootshine > true strike > demolish > bootshine > true strike > snap punch


again like stated, i been on my pld mostly since 2.1 dropped, so i havent had much time to optimize this rotation, and with my gear, dragon kick and twin snakes normally drops 1 to 2 skills before reapplied, note its an i83mnk that isnt maxed on SKS
