Thx for the knowledge guy and gals. Hq buttons in a blanket it is. Is this worth eating in other dungeons or just coil runs strictly?

Best food all around for us.
Det is best on all the DPS jobs I believe. Except maybe BLM... not sure how it compares to spell speed. Probably still can't go wrong with a Det built.
So am I to understand say that, getting the accuracy cap gear (482) + buttons would scale better over 472 + deviled eggs?
I'm not very savvy on DRG equip optimization, but the ACC cap for flank is closer to 460 than 482. 482 is only needed if you want to hit BC enemies in the face, something you'll do almost never (though admittedly will happen unavoidably at time due to bosses turning for AoEs and T5 adds and such).
<edit> so sorry i mixed up DRG topic with MNK <hide feeling ashamed>
Is anyone here using a macro that combines "Life Surge" and "Full Thrust"? I've tried a number of ways to macro the two abilities together but every result seems janky. Even something as simple as say:
/micon "Full Thrust"
/ac "Life Surge" <me>
ac "Full Thrust" <t>
doesn't seem to work as well as I'd like.
It's really not worth using any macros on drg, they will only slow you down unless SE changes the /wait increments from seconds to milli seconds. Only thing maybe worth doing is your survival skills on one spammable macro like featherfoot/keen flurry/bloodbath/potions for when your in trouble but that's still kinda meh and only useful for pvp/when you are tanking something like T4 rook or if you have a bad tank that can't handle hate.
The only macro I use is Power Surge combined with Jump, but I use the macro in such a way its more or less just saving a button on my bar. If I see power surge is up, I'll press my macro once (triggering PS) then when I am ready to use the jump, I'll press the macro again, executing the jump since PS was on cooldown. I will never attempt to execute both PS and Jump in the same GCD since its a dps loss. I have yet to see a negative impact with this macro tbh and have been using it since short after I hit 50.
Are you a tank? If yes, the accuracy you're aiming for is 477-480.
Are you a melee dps or a bard? The accuracy you're aiming for is 458-460.
Are you a BLM? If yes, the accuracy you're aiming for is 435.
Summoners are weird and pets suck. I don't even remember what their acc req. is.
I'm sure for pets, it's also 458.
I have 470 acc right now (my gloves and ring still will not drop) and I noticed one skill miss over about 3-4 hours of T5 last night on the big snake after divebombs (finally downed her at 2am, and MNK weapon/tank helm dropped :( I hate you Dreads...though we did have one hilarious divebomb wipe right before our win)
That's not to say I didn't miss any auto-attacks (I can't parse, so I don't know for sure, and keep forgetting to ask how many misses I have), but I really don't care if I miss one auto-attack on the big snake; if that AA is the difference between killing the snake and a wipe, we have other issues than me missing that AA.
Auto-attacks and Weapon Skills have the exact same Accuracy Ratings. Auto-attacks don't have a "higher" accuracy rate what so ever. I showed this ages ago.
You're a BRD - the solution to this should be evident. Being that the only time you're attacking from the front really are the snakes during the 2nd set of divebombs, toss a Rain of Death on the lot of them and reduce their evasion. Voila. You'd be helping all the DPS in your party that have optimized their accuracy setup.
The snake phase doesn't even matter DPS wise. It's a matter of, can your group clear it or not. Twintania is coming back a minute after the second Dive Bombs either way, and whether or not you missed some AAs is inconsequential since it does not help speed the fight up or hurt Twintania.
Basically, don't let that part affect your gearing choice. 460~ is as high as you should go for current content.
Myself and the two BRDs in my group are at 460 accuracy with/without food. Our BLM rocks around 427 If I'm not mistaken, before food. Honestly, 1 auto-attack miss for 130 damage isn't going to effect the Asclepius fight in any way what so ever, especially after the mage LB and you're hitting for 2k+. You should be putting your DoT's up as Asclepius first spawns anyway so they're ticking through Dive Bomb dodging.
I was talking to you actually :P And I'm aware that you're playing as a Dragoon. I'm stating that 1 WD/Auto-attack miss in a blue-moon for 130 damage doesn't outweigh the fact you'll be doing 2-3k hits on Asclepius. You should be putting up your dots as a Dragoon. When you hit the 15 seconds mark before the next set of dive bombs, you should be putting up your Chaos Thrust + Phlebotimize, followed by a Rain of Death from the Bard as everyone will be suffering through that phase cause of the accuracy.
I've only ever missed twice at 460 accuracy in the past 4 weeks, once on a Scourge as I was attacking near the front because of liquid hell placement and a second on Asclepius.
I want to bring my Acc down (470 for Coil ATM), but Coil is being really mean to me (the DRG Ring and Gloves are a lie)
Question about potions in Turn 4:
Should a strength potion be used in conjunction with Blood for Blood or should it be used after B4B? I'm specifically talking about for first dread. Should you stack all buffs at once or spread them out a bit? Or is it a wash either way?
In general, buffs should be synchronized. Most will blow their load on Hygeia3-4 + Asclepius, so the cooldowns would not be available for the first dreadknight.
Edit: whoa, thought you were talking about T5 for some reason, lol. If I were to use a potion for T4, I would use it on p5.
Personally, I wouldn't use a potion on the P3 Dread. I would, however, using it when killing the P5 Dread (regardless of single or double tanking the P5/6 Dreads). That is my preference, just because the tanks are under a lot more stress in Phase 5 and 6 than in Phase 3...and if you need a pot in P3 you're in a bit of trouble...
In T4 I use B4B on the first knight of phase 2. Then B4B is up again on the P3 dreadnaught and when it is, I use a STR potion. Yes there is more stress on the tanks/healers during the P5/P6 transition, but there is no particular time constraint there like in P3 where you want to kill the dread before the spiders/rooks drop. If you are having any issues with P3, better to use a potion there and see the rest of the fight.
Yea that was kinda my thought.. The tank can drag dread SW which buys a couple extra seconds. But it is important to get the p5 dread down quick too. I was more or less just curious on the timing, should the potion try to be stacked with B4B, or should it be used after to extend the duration of "buffed" attacks.
I didn't think B4B would be back for p3 if used in p2. I advised our DRG to use it on the first phase so it would be back by the third, HT/B4B/IR and throw down 3 or 4 doom spikes on the bugs.
Yea that ax is sweetness.. I'll probably never get the first Allagan ax though, much less this one :(
I really hope that spear the drg is using in the 2.2 trailer Mog fight isn't the new spear from Gerolt. Because it's so.. plain. Thank goodness for the glamour system I guess tho.

DRG Allagan gear from the front.
Also, Full Allagan will be i110 for Gear. Full set will be BiS. Highest ilvl Weapon will be i115, I assume it could be either Zodiac, or Allagan at this point in time. It's unconfirmed. Allagan gear will be higher ilvl than Tome Gear, which I assume is i100.
Leviathan Weapons assumed to be i100. There's also another set of weapons, which will be i100 (presumably the tome/gerolt weapons).
New crafted gear is i90, with materia slots. There's also i95 gear, but I haven't a clue what they are.
AF2 appears, will not be in this patch.
EDIT: At a certain point, you will be able to select any additional stat for your Zodiac Weapon, sort of like a free Materia Meld for it.
Was all in the live letter. Here's the translations from it. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...eview?sle=true
Also, there's the official translations up on the forums, as well as the patch notes (which do not have gear info) I have more pics as well, including Leviathan EX + Crafted Gear ilvl :P
Looks like I may use the glamour system. I like the look of that weapon, but not so much the armor.
I like it a lot
